It is literally Surviving mars but better developed and somewhat mixed with fatorio. So far it climbed surprisingly high at top sellers - third from top, which is unusual for some obscure game with next to no promotion.

A shame Surviving Mars faded into obscurity due to paradox diverting funds into shovelware dead on arrival titles and abandoned developement. We'll see how this game will fare

I remember seeing previews on PC Gamer and also ads in some other places in the last two weeks so I wouldn't say it got next to no promotion.

I'm wary of this due to being in early access though.

A better Surviving Mars? From what I can see it's Factorio on Mars, i.e. nothing like Surviving Mars which is a traditional colony building sim with emphasis on colonists management.

It is the same as SM. First you build up a basis with drones and then build and extract seriusly with colonists
