Aye, works great with the resolution fix. Pity about the messages though.

Try keeping the vertical resolution at 720p. Like 1920*720.

Can anyone that uses x360ce with a PS2/PS3 controller tell me if I'm nuts? It seems like the button sticks (L3) and start/select are reversed. So I have to press select to lock on instead of the L3 stick button. And the start button is the right stick button. I tried changing the configuration around and no matter what it won't change in game: select button is always the lock on button. Maybe it's because it's late and I'm sleepy as hell but I can't figure the problem out for the life of me. Needless to say it's almost impossible to play this way.

I'd actually recommend torrenting xpadder (or buying it with filthy jewgold) and using it to remap your controller to whatever the fuck you need it to be.

Are you sure x360ce is actually working? Because that's the exact problem I had before I started to use it.

Yeah I know. But the whole point was playing at native monitor res so there's no image stretching.

Get a 360 pad.

It seems that the port is worse than bad. But at least there are no performance issues, that was my No1 problem with the console version. I think I wait for a while and see how the mods can improve the game. Than I might give it a try.

flip flopping much? I thought the groundbreaking gameplay would make up for any other problems by far. Besides, the biggest problem was supposedly the performance, but now it's a bad 'port' eh? You mean they didn't translate the button mashing awesomeness correctly? :smug:

Everyone going with a controller and whining that they can't button mash correctly as the on screen instruction on how to win don't match up...priceless.

PC GOTY :salute:

What kind of flip flopping are you talking about? I have the game on PS3 and love it. I never said that I will buy the PC version no matter what. The port is shit graphics wise, but the gameplay is still good. I might buy it latter if the issues are fixed.

^This is BS, since there are no on screen instructions in the game during combat. Never were. Also with button smashing, the enemies will kill you. This game cannot be played that way.

ORLY? I quote Stabwound:
The only annoyance is that none of the on-screen button icons match up obviously

He should elaborate on that because I don't remember there being on-screen button icons in the battles.

Edit: If I'm not mistaken he talked about the on-screen icons don't match up with the PS2 controller buttons he is using. Meaining that you see the A button on-scrren, but on the controller it is another button.

He's probably referring to the very beginning in the Undead Asylum tutorial. There are orange markings on the ground detailing various controls with button icons.

Sad to see the port turned out this bad, was wanting to play on pc. I own it for xbox, but rarely play on it.

Just beat the asylum demon...what an epic battle: left clicking and dodging like mad! Haven't seen that before in a game...oh wait I have! Funny how the 'click and roll' in TW2 got so much scoffing from Derp Souls fans, yet the 'click and jump' is hailed as the greatest thing EVAH...

Fuck off. It's like none of these people ever played a PC ARPG released in the last 10-12 years.

Looks like fucking shit too. Tried the fixes but just get the image in a tiny corner of the screen. What a joke of a fucking derivative pile of consoletard shit.

Sorry, but I give a lot of chances to 'turds' but when people claim 'shitty ARPG #312' is somehow different, unique and superior to everything that has come before it's really taking the piss. I haven't seen ONE fucking thing in this game that hasn't been done better in others apart from artificial trial and error difficulty when you meet something you haven't seen before and can't avoid it due to the corridor crawler style of the game.

Better than Twitcher? You're having a fucking laugh. It's not better than Risen 2 or Two Worlds as an overall experience! Hell, even Fable 3 was more fun.

Really bad port. Seriously, I'm not even having the Xbox360 controller plugged in and the game is telling me to press A?

Ok so I settled on playing with my gamepad, and was glad it seemed to work in menus... Except in game it turned out that X and Y axis on my right analogue stick are mixed up, so I can't control camera like a decent human being. Would anyone have an idea on how to fix this type of thing? I'm not about to go and buy X360 pad just for this.

This is just getting better and better. Is there a part of this port that actually works? :D

Seeing the game in 1080p led me to believe they did this to try to hide their low-rez textures and assets... while the equipments and floor textures scale well, stuff like walls, trees and the landscape looks very weaker now....

Correct.

You mean you don't jump around button mashing later on? You mean you don't die through lack of information about a boss BEFORE meeting him for the first time? The difficulty comes with being thrown in the deep end and trying to get your bearings and working out the schematic attacks while seeing what works on it and what doesn't. Big, fucking, deal.

Oh but you say that the old linear crawlers of old were similar? Well allow me to retort that there was actual RPG stuff in the past where you'd often find a weakness in the Big Bad before you met them or had an opportunity to buff up before the combat.

Actually tell me what the fuck is so great about this game. I've had to put up for over a year of snobbery and elitist crap from consoletards like you and Crooked Bee about how this is the greatest RPG ever and other such shit. You fuckers remind me of the cunts that claim Uncharted or MGS3 are some epics of the ages that us 'poor PC' users will never get to experience.

What does this game do better than Severance(thanks Abnaxus) regarding combat? Witcher regarding story and c&c? Gothic, regarding exploration and sense of progression?

I REALLY want to see this superiority in action because as it stands it looks like the Emperor not only has no clothes, but has no fucking skin either! So far I can rattle off 8-10 better ARPG's than this.

Oh and it shows what From Software really things about it being able to compete with proper ARPG's on the PC when it just releases a quick and dirty shit port. Seems they know they have a captive uncritical audience of tards on the console that will lap any shit up and say it's the greatest thing ever whereas on the PC they'll face a lot more scrutiny. Compare to the effort CDPR made to port the old TW1 to consoles years after release.

This isn't just an issue with Dark Souls, but pretty much any game that's been ported from the 360 version. They only officially support the 360 pad, other 3rd party controllers are all messed up and must be configured with that aforementioned 360ce tool.

The difficulty comes from sucky controls and camera more than anything else. It's a typical console game in this. It would be more enjoyable if it had a working, tight K&M control scheme. Like just now I jumped off a staircase and down a cliff instead of making a roll. I don't know how, I can't replicate it. When it does what i want it to do it's quite enjoyable, but it only does that half the time.
