Why have I never seen the DX Bible? Anyway,

The :decline: was, the :decline: is, and the :decline: shall be. Not in the spaces we know, but between them. It walks serene and primal, undimensioned and to us unseen.

I don't think anyone would claim they were the original aliens.

I think one scientist says something like "Maybe they are hyper-intelligent beings, but since nobody ever teched them something, they are little more than apes."
IIRC, the scientist didn't know what they are either, only that those we encountered had grown up in capitivty/cages and therefore anyway were little more than animals.

Pretty meh price. IW is horrible and not worth playing. The original is routinely $3 or less on various sales and HR is practically given away -- think it's been as low as $5 individually and also been in various multi-game bundles on Amazon such that you could probably buy a key for $3 or less. The DLC doesn't really add much.

The DLC is actually pretty good.

It wasn't bad but the only thing it gives you that you wouldn't get in the base game is how they envisioned boss encounters instead of the shitty outsourced ones. That and it's only about... two hours max.

I liked the improved visuals and boss encounter, also the level design was more interesting than most of Human Revolution. Can't wait for them to apply those same features to the entire game with the upcoming "update".

well, when it comes to quality dlc its probably in the top 5 best DLCs, if not the best one...
Has more to do with the fact that most DLCs are a waste of your money.

    theres an update? link please.

I never played the DLC for HR. In what way does it fix the boss encounters? Does it make it less boring and shitty for my stealth character?

It's not really a boss encounter in the classic sense. It's a gauntlet filled with bots, traps, snipers, etc, that you have to pass through, whether by force or by stealth, with a regular guy at the other side who is the "boss".

Honestly the demand on HR for the bosses to be tackled in all manner of different ways is an ideal not even followed by the original game. When your choices put Gunther in front of you ready to fight good luck hacking a computer to stop him. It's one of those nostalgia goggle issues where people remember Deus Ex being better with bosses than it was. The stealth option was to run.

So yeah, the DLC doesn't really have a boss, just a tougher room at the end than most other rooms in the game. And HR has bosses, like the original game did, but perhaps made them too difficult for stealthy characters to fight head-on and impossible to run away from.

Well the thing with the original is that you could kill some of the 'bosses' before you actually got to the 'intended' confrontation and/or you could kill them via non combat solutions like Navarre and Gunther with kill phrases. Stuff you could only find with exploration/hacking, etc.

    This.

You could also run away, lure bosses around, and possibly re-encounter them later in game.
Maybe it wasn't perfect, but it offered considerable wiggle room.

Meanwhile in DX:HR you only encounter bosses when you're intended to fight them and fight follows "here's your gun, this is the arena, fight!" formula.

You know who was well designed and implemented unique enemy in DX:HR?

So does everyone have to buy the game again to play new boss encounters?

The only "boss" encounter in the game before Bob Page that you can't beat without exploits is Anna Navarre. It is absolutely possible to hack the computer in Paris before Gunther gets to you.

My point is more that there is not this perfectly signaled "go this way for stealth" option, which is what a lot of people seem to be demanding for HR. The footage of the new version shows them adding a telegraphed turret area and whatnot, which is not what I would want. I want shit like the kill codes, or just running away, like the original game had.

This is an interesting question. Either they build the respec into the game at that point like in the DLC or they remove that aspect of the DLC. I hope for the latter.
