But realistically every game series that has sequelitis can be called Friday the 13th of videogames. Those fighting games that have 100+ characters from multiple franchises? Jason vs Freddy. Star Wars prequels can be used for every game dev that once he got lots of money started thinking about cool CGI instead of gameplay and fucked things up.

I just read this and ... it is a pretty positive review, the guy just says that some parts of the game are average and thus he gives the game 7.5. These people act like he said the game is the worst thing ever when he didn't.

As I launched my review copy of The Last of Us, sipping on cool MTN Dew, I was stunned by the majestic nature of the game. "A masterpiece!", I gasped, enraptured, reaching for my Dorito pack. This game is truly an epic experience, from the gritty and grim world it presents to the visceral combat, the engaging narrative and the diverse character cast. Ellen Paige, while not quite the gamer magnet that is Felicia Day, manages to captivate the audience and carry the game with her strong performance and her innocent charisma. Yeah, even considering the fact that they were involved in unmasking a lot of journo shit in the Doritosgate. Its the review paradox really. If a game gets 9.5 or 10=bought review, less than that its a biased review. Some people just can't think with their brians.

From what I can tell, it mostly stems from NeoGAF having a very strong pro-Sony stance.

Naturally, as a result of this, it's not bad reviewing practices, it's the truth shining through the darkness to them.
