Why is is that in turn based games high movement is more important for fighters than archers and mages, but it's the other way in real time games?

What is an RPG?

A Sword and Sorcery Fantasy Wargame Adventure.

Before Frodo and Gandalf, people used to play small-unit rulesets of Napoleonic and American Civil War, medieval and Roman-era wargames. It is reasonable to assume that fantasy or sci-fi is just circumstantial; Tolkien could have written something else, or something else could have been popular.
