I thought they said they were going to be banning games that "were considered to be trolling", not stuff like that.
They said they were going to ban illegal content, to my knowledge; underage content is considered illegal in America.
That was likely to happen yes, but I hoped you bothered to read the article beyond the obvious title, as it mentions some examples that were banned/were delayed, despite not being set in high-schools and/or have erotic content at all.
Yes, I did read the article.
- Hello, Goodbye:
https://vndb.org/v5316 (High school setting, Loli-aged character)
- My Bullied Bride:
https://vndb.org/v19178 (High school setting which is made obvious if you look at the CGs)
- Imolicious:
https://vndb.org/v24721 (High school setting, possible loli given that (to my knowledge) the MC is 18 and in high school, his
younger sister is also in there, so with 9 months between pregnancies on average, plus some downtime...)
- Key to Home:
https://vndb.org/v22252 (Elementary school setting, blackmail, brothel, prostitution stuff even though this may not involve the underage characters, the CGs are fairly suggestive even if fully clothed)
- Maomao Discovery Team: The article about it literally says it's partially about "watching a loli pleasure herself or engaging in copulation with the loli named Maomao".
- Cross Love:
https://vndb.org/v24719 (High school setting)
- Victory Project: Article on this also says "It’s entirely possible that the loli content in the game could be what’s holding it up from release."
So every game on that article that I saw linked either had loli content or was in a high school (or elementary school) setting.
For Niplheim's Hunter, I covered that earlier in the thread, but essentially they wrote something like "All characters in the game are 18+ of age even if the game says otherwise" (not the exact quote, but the general gist of it AFAIK). This is basically the same as going up to a cop and saying "Officer, I don't have any loaded guns on me, even if that huge bulge in my pocket looks really suspiciously like a gun." Even if it's not a gun, it's going to get the cop to search you because you just drew his attention to you/the bulge because of your comments.
Usually, but then there are cases like this one:

My point is that the censorship can be qute arbitrary. At least in your case you have alternatives if Steam didn't like your game for some reason.
There's definitely cases that slip through the cracks on any service, but it doesn't mean they're immune or they'll never get checked; it may be just that Steam is currently blockading off newer games while their policy spreads throughout the internet, and then they'll slowly work backwards into their existing catalogue. (I know this game got submitted to Steam only recently, but I just mean new in terms of release date of the original version.)
HentaiWriter if you ever want to reply to that old message, even with like a 2 liner, I'm still interested. Just in case. It's a long shot and you likely never will, but in case you're like "the guy prolly forgot he even asked", I didn't.
I absolutely didn't forget
just been really busy with stuff still, but I will before the month's up!
Agree, I keep checking this thread whenever it pops up hoping for some entertaining indie drama shadenfreude, only to be reminded that it was derailed into this shit.
From post #128 onward it could be moved into new thread and post #128 would serve as a very informative opening post, preferably in a weeboo subforum.
Sounds fine to me, if the mods want to do that.
