Where's Assassin's Creed Shadows?
Also unlike many entries ITT this is confirmed for a 2025 release.

Why are there games with release date 2026 in the list? Also, a lot of games in the list don't even have a release date. I don't think it makes sense to include them until we know that they'll actually release in this year.

Assassin's Creed isn't an RPG. It's platformer with character customization.
They became full-fledged Witcher 3-style RPGs starting with Odyssey but they're also mole-poppin' crap, not incline.

It's not a list of RPGs releasing in 2025. It's just this year's poll of upcoming RPGs.

Genuinely surprised how many of those look potentially good. I voted for 14 of them, so if even half turn out good I'll be happy with that.

But Jesus Wept, the direction Whalenaight have gone with their stuff looks worse every time I see it.

Am I the only copetard with some hope for VTB2?:dead:
You mean VTMB 2?
Not Deus Ex with vampires like the original game, so it will be most likely trash.
Looks like trash and plays like it, has that weird color palette which reminds me of Thi4f, another bomb of a game.
Lacks the distinct tone of the original.

I just want to go on record saying my vote for Bloodlines 2 is a vote of hope not faith. I fully expect it to let me down. BUT I WANT TO BELIEVE, DAMMIT!

Also, don't really understand all the hype for Monomyth, looks pretty bland. I will still give it a chance though.

Code of the Savage
Way of Wrath (probably)
Zodiac Legion
Monomyth
Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy
Cyber Knights: Flashpoint

All look interesting to me. But as usual i don't expect much in this day and age.

The games I find the most promising are Aletheia: Return of Odysseus, Peripeteia, and Infinitroon: the Thread-Splitting Kike Getting Caramellised In Concrete.

  • Aletheia: Return of Odysseus - is this like Age of Decadence? Look like there would be a lot of Greeks and no underwear.
  • Archaelund - graphic looks like Skyrim mod, but it has a lot of character classes, it might be decent as long as they would evade blacks and browns. Looks like they have a lot of different species as a possible choices. If you want to have bullman character, or some kind of insect stuff. From screenshots it looks like they are having bit problems with writer department. (And I don't mean grammar, or writing style.)
  • Banquet for Fools - artsy game with clunky combat. It's basically doll like characters moving on screen. If combat bit improves... You probably shouldn't play it at night during a storm.
  • Call of Saregnar - another low cost small team project with possibly questionable quality. Character portraits could be real photos of developers.
  • Code of the Savage - Pixel graphics. Why everything has to be pixel graphic?
  • Cyber Knights: Flashpoint - I said this game has too much inspiration from Firaxis XCOM, and I still say this game has too much inspiration from Firaxis XCOM.
  • Esoteric Ebb - I'd avoid deciding on this game until reviewers become victims and make some conclusion. Why are there three weird games in the row in this list?
  • Fallen Gods - Rogue lite game, that... Well it's a game. Not sure if its poor game, or atrocious game.
  • Hibernaculum - Is it like Vaporum just with FAR worse graphics? I don't like developers who say but old games that had to run on 3000 slower graphic card had this graphic thus we have to make low resolution pixelated graphic like when you run these old games on modern LCD monitors. (Yes they looked bad on CRT monitors as well.)
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance II - Meh.
  • MENACE - made by Battle Brothers developers, it might be fun.
  • Monomyth - That's actually 2024 game.
  • Mystic Land: The Search for Maphaldo - Might and Magic like game in current year. It has Wizards and Warriors like graphic in current year.
  • Pathfinder: The Dragon's Demand - not sure about this game.
  • Peripeteia - I'm not sure about graphic of this game. Games in 97 had better. Perhaps it's only early access.
  • Project Haven - oh dear. Did you seen black girl on the poster? I don't give it too many chances. In addition they are wasting development time by including multiplayer.
  • Prometheus Wept - let's say. Fallout I with worse graphic. Story would make or destroy the game.
  • Solasta II - lets wait and see. They switched engine...
  • Stellar Tactics - might have potential, but I'm not sure they would finish the game in this year.
  • Stoneshard - that's like in development for eternity
  • Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy - looks like average game
  • The Conformist - Big project of Suzerain's developers who had to make Suzerain's DLC just to pay for its development. Graphics is bad, but you don't play this game for graphic. Looks like it's a something like Disco Elysium, just in 3 districts of big city. It would probably stay, or break on story and execution.
  • The Jovian System - It calls itself hard SF game. So it would be likely dark, gritty, and with lack of color. (Also I remember about some free ware game where you are studding anomalies and do stuff. It was for free, and it was fairly interesting. It need some free graphic update and it would compete hard.)
  • The Way of Wrath - It calls itself epic strategy RPG. I designed complex grand strategy games, but I have no clue from Steam images about what they are talking about. I see cartoon graphic and some characters.
  • Underrail 2: Infusion - Well First game psionic was nerfed like crazy. I'm not sure if second game wouldn't be victim of nerfing too much, and overbalancing.
  • Urban Strife - that's like that zombie game where you did these bases and stuff... Just without zombies right? I guess we had 15 games like that in last decade.
  • Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 - Which one, the Mitsoda one, or the other one? They are popping out of grass like mushrooms.
  • Zodiac Legion - I'm not sure about this one, if it was freeware it would be probably fine. (As long as easy difficulty setting would be in reality normal difficulty, and normal difficulty settings would force player to go through pain to not lose too many units.) Not something I'd want to force on people for money, but as freeware it might compete with Eador Genesis for place between decent strategy games. (As long as story will not suck. And as long as strategy element would be decent.)
