I dunno, seems kinda silly to me. The only level where you'll ever use the pistol is E01M01. In later episodes they start you off with a shotty or another gun so that you don't have to touch the godawful pistol.
The concept of a strictly inferior starting weapon has more meaning in multiplayer games where you spawn with it every time you die.
I play it fine on R7 260X 2GB, can drop to 40fps on several intense scenes but overall it performs well.So I take it this game is probably not very playable on a gtx760 2GB? At least not with stable framerate.

Um, they cannot even be compared as Doom belongs to a wholly different strain of shooters.
