Broken Sword 2 is a gorgeous classic in my book. The third installment suffers from next-generation box-pushing, so avoid it.

Looking at getting hl2 today, but was holding off for a orange box special instead. There's only 2 or so day left, decisions decisions.

You could just get the Orange Box piecemeal. HL2 was $6ish, Portal today is $2, and TF2 was $6ish earlier and has gone on sale before for as low as $2. $10 is about as cheap as you'd ever see the Orange Box. Granted you don't get Episodes 1 and 2 but they only offer about four more hours of game play and are pretty bland compared to the base HL2.

I'm hoping the final day will have some really good deals, to make up for a few *meh* ones taking up spots.

Rumor is the last day of the sale will promote some of the best selling games from previous daily sales.

I'm kind of hoping that's not true, because I pretty much got everything I wanted when it was available.

That's good because there were some games I wanted to buy, but kinda forgot. On the other hand I don't have much money left...

well the new sale is up, meh. Looks like they brought back mAss Effect 2, now only 23$.

I wonder if Bioshock 2 for 14.99 would be worth it?

ok, I just have not heard one positive thing about Bioshock 2. They must have really fucking dropped the ball on that one.

oh well, I'll look for something else.

Wasteland 2
Death to Spies, King's Bounty, Necrovision prequel I've never seen anything about... hm.

I'd have a look at ArmA 2 for £12 if it wasn't cheaper on Amazon. See Steam are still keeping to their tradition of making stuff far more expensive outside the US. Thanks, Valve!

edit: Metro 2033 is down by 50% from... £53? Jesus Christ. Games are £25 on release from Amazon. Thieving bastards.

it's the worst level of the first game ('cept for boss fight) made into a game, minus any kind of atmosphere or difficulty.

the only thing they improved is the hacking minigame, and the one level where you play as a little sister and see verything through their eyes was very lulzy as well, but that's about it.

Just bought:

Mount & Blade: Warband for $15
Time Gentlemen, Please! for $2.50
Introversion Complete Pack for $5
Clive Barker's Jericho for $1.69
Ghost Master for $0.95

I almost bought L4D2 for $10, but I honestly don't think I'd get my money's worth. I played the first one for a little while (mostly in Versus mode) and then got sick of it. The same would probably happen with the second. Add in the fact that none of my friends would play with me on the PC (fucking xboxers) and I just didn't think it was worth it.

This thread makes me feel a little better towards women, since being a compulsive shopper who buys something because the word "sale" is involved is apparently not solely a feminine quality. Unless...

Was hopping in the event of a repeat day they'd put the Gothic pack up at the $2 price. Oh well. At least I have another 24 hours to decide if I want to get World of Goo. Also still debating Greed: Black Border for $5.

World of Goo just doesn't do it for me. I got a free copy for some reason a long time ago, then another one during the Humble Indie Bundle. Two free copies and I still don't play it much. My advice is, try the demo.

No, no, it's only a feminine quality if you buy things you don't NEED, and never USE. Like if you bring home an arm-full of shoes even though your closet is filled with... shoes you... still haven't worn yet...

*glances at his backlog of unplayed games*

I'm currently on an adventure game (point and click) kick recently and any recommendations on the ones that are on sale?

I've already played The Longest Journey and The Whispered World, all the Sam & Max, Lucasarts pack, MI remake and the new Monkey Island series.

And yeah, it seems Steam went down haha.

I personally enjoyed them, as they pretty much stay true to the original. They are kind of..... dumbed down 3d popamole now but still enjoyable (some of the puzzles are refreshing and new). I think most of us on the Adventure Forums here generally liked them overall. They are no where near as fucking awesome as The Longest Journey, but still fun.

And I think they are all on sale now, so definitely worth the price.

Space Rangers Pack worth 6.24?

Yeah, it's like a genre-blending space opera/adventure/RTS/RPG. I'd draw comparisons to Sundog, Starflight, that sort of thing.

It was popular around the same time King's Bounty - The Legend was making headlines, and with the same sort of gamers. So if you like games a little crazy, you'll probably enjoy it.
