I wouldn't. Apparently Bit trip Runner sold so well on Steam that the developer will have enough cash to keep in business for quite a while -- thus I'd expect to see a lot more of the Bit Trip titles ported over to PC (there's about five or six). I'd bet there will be a pack of them for cheap in the future (personally I got Bit Trip Beat in the indie music pack for $5).
Yeah, I'm iffier on the Bit Trip game. Would like the Dejobaan games though. Figure I'll see if anyone buys it that already has Bit Trip and Wonderful End of the World and I'll offer to buy the pair off 'em for $5. Otherwise I dunno what I'll do. Probably buy it anyway in the hope I could sell the potato hat for $15 to cover it.

Bought Kick It, Bit Trip, and End of the World for $15. Got my potato hat and sold it for $20. Got 3 indie games and $5, thanks Valve and hatmania.

The plot thickens.

Weighted Companion Cube pin you get from playing all the games in the potato sack. The dude who bought my hat is now offering me $20 for the pin too. Thanks for 3 indie games and $25, Valve.

So some idiot is offering you $40 for two items instead of buying the package and getting a dozen games with it?

He sure is. And no, I don't understand it either.

Edit: Though it's possible the companion cube pin will end up going for more than $20. Depends how long it can be "Activated". If they end the potato pack tomorrow and people can't get the pins, they'll probably sell for some completely retarded price like Max heads. I'm torn between immediately selling the guy the pin and sitting on it to see if I can get more. At this point I've already more than broken even on my game purchases, so whatever I get for the pin is gravy. :M

I wish I had the time/patience to deal with these crazy people. I can't even be bothered to trade the two dozen crates I have.

Ended up selling the pin for $15. Should have jumped on that $20 immediately, oh well. $20 and 3 games for next to no effort is acceptable. Especially since $10 of that immediately got chucked into Blood Bowl.

Whatever happened to just buying games and shooting other people online in them?

Now we're supposed to buy pins and hats and shit so we look stupid while doing it?

If the Codex text adventure game was made by Valve I would have gotten a hat for getting through it. :rpgcodex:

I would only get them if you're a hardcore ARPG fan. They handle the core ARPG elements like random/procedurally generated dungeons, hybrid classes, and difficulty settings well; however, overall the games feel pretty soulless and bland.

There is a four day promo on 2K titles this week -- today is the Mafia series for 75% off (including the first one for only $2.50). Additionally if you buy or already happen to own the game on sale for the day if you join the official 2K group you get registered in a chance to win their whole catalog on Steam. Sifting through the games can't say I'm that interested. Might pick up the last Borderlands DLC if it's $3 or less.

How is the first Mafia? Like GTA 3 onwards?

Mafia's more like GTA4. It's okay; it tells a great gangster story if you're into that sort of thing, with great period atmosphere. You really will keep playing just to see how it plays out. The gameplay's... not really all that to write home about, though.

Also, think I'm caving and buying Blood Bowl. I have no honour. Like a woman.

Picked up Mafia 1 since I've heard good things, and the Mafia 2 DLC (Missions, not the skins) since even though I haven't even played Mafia 2 yet (Picked it up for $7.50 during another sale) my half-assed research on the missions said they were reasonably fun.

Even though I seriously doubt it will be, I slightly hope the civ5 DLC goes on sale since I wouldn't mind picking up the new civs. Although even if it gets a 50% discount it might be a bit much, be like $9 for 4 civs. Eh, fuck it. Not even a particularly good price at half off.

Did they finally patch fun into civ V? Last time I played I didn't see any incentive to build anything in cities...

I guess? Last time I played civ5 a week or two ago I was always building shit. Admittedly I was trying for a culture win so I was trying to grab a lot of wonders.

Unfortunately Mafia doesn't have a great story. It has good moments though and a lot of potential, nice presentation with the cinematics, but it's mainly mediocre. Every time some new story element gets introduced, you think "oh, this looks interesting" and then nothing happens at all because it goes on something else.

Decided to pass on Mafia even at only $2.50 -- I'll probably just use that to buy the Claptrap DLC to get me interested in Borderlands again.

Both Bioshock games today at 75% off. Couldn't really stand the first so I'm guessing I wouldn't like the second.

Probably. The second has some minor gameplay improvements like being able to use plasmids at the same time as a gun, but apart from small tweaks like that it's more of the same. Which was good for me since I love love loved Bioshock like the popamole consoletard I am.

I thought the setting was really nice but after the first level I just couldn't go on -- the game play was mind numbing. Oh, there's also a Midweek deal on Magicka for 50% including Magicka complete for $7.50 which includes the new Magicka Vietnam.

Heh, GLaDOS is replacing the trader in Killing Floor right now.
