Nope, EA only sells the DLC through its own digital store. And, yes, the ME2 Deluxe edition on Steam = $10 more for horse armor.

Holy shit, there's horse armor in ME2? Who do you give it to? - Miranda? I'd totally ride that! :smug:

Downloading (legitimately) S8P now - that preview video and Gragt's impressions sold me....

Where have you been, they sold the ME2 cosmetic appearance pack DLC a while ago. With sunglasses and other non-performing widgets to give a fresh look to your crew.

Only got 9 hours in now (wait, already 9?) but it's been very fun so far. I'm not a fan of unlocking stuff but hopefully most of it goes rather fast and naturally (just play, complete objectives and it'll get done). Some unlockables are also tied to achievements, and it's interesting to note that you can unlock some both by progressing in offline or online mode, though you can only unlock up to a certain point offline.

Swarm is rather fun but the main attraction is Conquest with its large scale battle where everything is blowing up. The dynamic missions really add a lot to give you some purpose and alternate ways to earn victory points. It can sometimes be confusing to know which weapon to use and with what mod, especially when situations can change so fast, but then again I'm all for having a lot of choices.

The campaign is actually decent but that's just it. It's ok and can help you test the various weapons and their mods, but encounters are typically small scale and the AI isn't doing very well there (I found them to be craftier on Swarm or Conquest, or maybe that's just because of their numbers). In the end I wish they dropped it and worked on the multiplayer aspects more but so be it.

So yeah, been a blast so far.

Hm, ME2 is on my to-play list but I'll pass it until a edition containing all DLCs is out and preferably cheap enough.

Should I just get warhead or the complete pack to tickle my inner graphics whore? I couldn't get the crack I downloaded to work last I tried.

I only played the original and it was okayish. Not a masterpiece but not a turd either. Graphics are the main attraction — ironically most environments feel bland despite the technical side — but gameplay is somewhat decent. At least you got large maps that let you approach the objectives from various angles, but that degenerates to linear shooting when you meet the aliens. Plot is laughably bad and tends to take itself seriously, unlike Far Cry where the bad voice acting gave it a fun bad movie vibe, but honestly you won't play it for plot.

Heard Warhead was a bit more focused on action and plays a bit differently from the original, so I guess you could get both, especially given how cheap they are.

Oh yeah, looks like the promo page only lists the two games individually, but you can shave a few monies off of the price by looking for the cheaper bundle that contains both games.

Warhead is pretty fun and varied. It's very much like a decent action movie, mostly in the way that it's about two and a half hours long. I'd pay the price they're charging for Crysis, but honestly it's probably not worth what they are charging.

At the very start of the sale they mistakenly discounted Deadspace so expect tomorrow or Sunday to be Deadspace 2 25% off and Deadspace 1 75% off -- not that I'll buy either.

Is there still an online community for the first crysis? The multiplayer sounds like xmp for unreal 2, which was my favorite online game of all time.

Whatever, I bought it. Can't go wrong for 10 dollars I guess.

It sure was fun while it lasted. Wish we could make a group to revive it.

Maybe there will be interest for at least a few weeks following this sale. I imagine a few people will pick it up for 7.50/10 bucks.

Are there people playing Crysis Wars? It sounded more interesting than Crysis 2's MP at least.

Tempted to blow $10 on that Crysis bundle. I really dislike limited activations DRM, but at $10 for the whole shebang that IS mighty cheap. Played Crysis 1 and enjoyed it fairly well but never did play Warhead, and I'd like to have it on Steam anyway since I'm part of the problem.

Not exactly the best solution but there is a revoke tool for warhead so you can get an activation back.

Plus cracks typically work with Steam games, so if need-be and I burn up all my activations and EA refuses to give me more I could always crack them and run them in Steam as normal. Actually did that with some SecuROM Steam game, forget what. I think Far Cry 2 before they removed SecuROM from it.

H.Crap! This made me check my library. I have 178 games in my steam library... (I go nuts during the sales lol)... Might have to pick up the Crysis bundle just to round it out to 180.... shit, this is kinda embarrassing.

@Gragt - Thanks for the heads up on Section 8P. Having a blast with it atm.... very fun little shooter for $15. Just playing SP so far, the bot matches are surprisingly good which is unusual for a MP focused game.

I picked up the Men of War bundle at the same time - $20 for all 3 (including the latest one that was only recently released)... bargain!

Yes, S8P is indeed fun. One of my favourite aspect is the customisation that allows you to create a class for pretty much any situation, and sometimes you only need to switch a weapon in a build to give it a new purpose. So if the DCM where you need to scavenge parts come up, you can make a runner class that focuses on mobility and jamming and forgoes damage, or you can make an harrassement class that will have a hard time to kill but likewise will be hard to kill and who will in the meantime bust the shields of infantry and vehicles with EMP as well as cripple their jetpacks and overdrives. There is a lot of room for experimentation and I love it.
