What I've read in many cases about Patrician IV is that it's a dumbed-down decline for the series. Haven't played it myself, but this is generally held as truth even in mainstream media, so, just sayin'.

Thanks, bros. I guess I'll get III. Older graphics aren't as big a deal as dumbed-down gameplay.

I thought I read that first Commandos has some issues with the Steam version on modern OS's. It might have changed since then but you might want to check that out.

Oooh, just picked up the complete Commandos collection for $3.74 and something called Partricians and Merchants pack that included Darkstar One, Partrician III and The Great Art Race (huh?).. for $2.49.

All up that's less than a happy meal. ;)

Yeah, there are ways to fix'em though if you check the forums - anyway, the tissue I just blew my nose with cost more, so WTF right?

Works without any problems for me on Win7 ultimate, 32-bit. The save/load and speed patch that some guy made that's on steam forums works without any problems as well.

Works fine on 64-bit 7 HomeP too.

Weekend Deal is Serious Sam stuff -- don't bother it was cheaper during the Holiday sale and will probably be cheaper during the Summer sale.

Hearts of Iron II and III are also on sale. I'm only getting one. Any recommendations? I've heard III isn't quite as good, but Codex opinions are always welcome.

Yeah, each Railworks 2 DLC is just a goddamn half priced game that comes with... a new train you can drive. Who they market it successfully to I have no idea.

considering how expensive models can get as a hobby I think that is a fair price for anyone who secretly wants to be a train in scenic locations all over the planet that we call home

Well, Steam now apparently does daily deals -- today's is Operation Flashpoint for $5.

Get Sands of Time from GOG :smug:
Although I love GOG, it's hard to justify spending $10 or whatever for a single game vs. $15 for the entire collection.

Still on the fence about taking the plunge, Sands of Time is great, the others range from mediocre to good, but I don't know if I really care enough to bother, especially as I already own a couple of them. It's still a good deal all things considered, it's a huge amount of gameplay you get for the money.
