Any metroidvania attempt that goes for square-angle shapes and backgrounds that are not filled in with art and have actual artwork only on their edges (e.g. Dead Cells, this, and so on) can fuck right off.

Any metroidvania dev that considers making his game rogue-like or souls-like in 2022 should be tarred, feathered and put in stocks.
