IIRC Last Ninja 2 had a bit more diverse gameplay...

I love the Last Ninja trilogy. Apparently there was a 4th game on a newer console, though I never checked it out. I never got to finish number 3 because my C64 disk was corrupt.

LN2 was excellent as well.
