Okay, I have to choose if playing Titan quest or not.

    Should I go for it?
If yes, should I partner with a companion and play it multiplayer?

Third question, but not least important; do I forget about Ragnarok? What happens if I buy Ragnarok? Am I forced to play with it or can I still play the anniversary edition campaign without hassles\ragnarok?

Playing with friend? If that make playthrough faster through the content - then yes, do it.
You can play without Ragnarok, it's not like main game was patched to force you to buy it (like it happened is some games like Dorkest Dung-ones)

I recommend speedhacking it and perhaps installing a mod that doubles monster spawns.

I enjoyed Titan Quest, I really did. But FFS, the biggest issue the game had was filler content, it was 3 times longer than it needed to be, with not enough variety. You could die of tedium before leaving Greece. Now they keep pumping these expansions out that make the game EVEN LONGER... that Ragnarok expansion was 99% walking in a frozen forest, 1% dissapointing boss fights.

I just can't see this appealing to anyone except the people that already spent like 5,000 hours playing it.

You are supposed to stop and grind by design.

Or get TQ defiler and boost experience/loot rates, I find the game needlessly tedious without it.

Funny, from Ragnarok, I mostly remembered the swamp forest, because I kept dying there. :negative:

But the rest was a cakewalk. I agree with what you said earlier, it looked very cool and had a good sense of place: my favorite part was walking from Babylone to the Great Wall in the Asia chapter. But gameplay was meh

Atlantis is about half as long as the other expansions and it's not mandatory to do to get to the next difficulty level nor are there any quests that award you with attribute or skill points. It is a really great act and would've been my favorite one had it not been for the technical problems. Each time I fight against a pack of monsters in Atlantis my FPS drops to the 5-10 FPS range. It's completely unplayable. Only way I was able to finish it was by running past all the optional trash monsters. Also I can't do the new infinite dungeon Tartarus because one of the random modifiers is "Hero Pets Not Allowed" and I play pretty much only as pet characters, so.. :M

I recall that pets were underpowered even in Hades, let alone in the higher difficulties or subsequent expansions... Even mages get shafted. In fact, my most successful toon was a shield bashing Attack/Defense specialist (Conqueror?).

Pet builds are actually quite powerful, maybe even the most powerful kind of build in the game, just that it takes until getting into Legendary before they get good because all the gear you need to make them work are found on that difficulty level.

Which pet build did you use? I had a Necro/Mind build and a Necro/Nature one. The wolves were pretty... lackluster...

My current char is Spirit/Dream but sucks. Dream is a trap choice. Nature is best for pets. Wolves are good but you need good gear for them. Nature/Spirit is a good combo. Nature/Warfare or Hunting are also good, maybe even better because of all the buffs they provide for your pets, but they are more hybridized as they give good options for you to also deal damage. For pure pet builds Nature/Spirit is the way to go.

Spirit is the Necro one, right?

Hunting and Warfare are for the debuffs and buffs that allow your pets to perform better, right?

I might try to play my Nature/Spirit combo again. I stopped at the entrance to Elysium, IIRC.

Dream is better combined with melee masteries.

Nature pets are mediocre. best pet build is warfare/spirit with 100% cooldown (do they still allow that or did the new guys patch it out?), 5 warriors + lich + outsider + possession, permanent banner makes it easy to hit -100% energy use as well, % life reduction for bosses, good melee defenses.

The cooldown reduction is capped at 80% now iirc.

I have the old IT, with none of the new DLCs. That CD reduction thing should still be around, right?

My only concern is the need for so many stats for Warfare/Spirit. Basically all stats.

This was added in Anniversary Edition before the 2 DLCs. If you do not have this edition then you should be good, yes.

It affects elemental damage. if you're not doing elemental damage it's useless.

Heh. I just broke out IT again. I had a Nature/Dream, not Nature/Spirit.

I also have a Earth/Spirit summoner type, utilising Core Dweller and Liche King. Only level 26 and at Valley of Kings, so I must have abandoned it for a reason.

LoL this game still gets expansions, that is quite the dedication. I did play it on release but had forgot what it was. So is it any fun to give replay with all the expansions after i finish torment?
