It's been a long, long time since I looked at it but if I recall correctly calling it "The Complete Book of the Master Race" isn't uncalled for.

but aren't elves actually the master race, a bit? you know, old, powerful, racist, try not to mix, don't like mixed blood, etc etc?

anyway, i swear i don't get all this "romance" bullshit. what kind of people expect this from a videogame? i mean, i was a nerd as a teenager, but romancing videogame characters is just really really sad.

Some people think they should be able to bash open doors in an RPG. Others think they should be able to "bash open" elven arseholes. :troll:

Apart from the romance bombshell they dropped on the Biotards, I liked this line a lot: For example, there is no total this Kickstarter could reach that would lead us to implement multiplayer.

Also, Ziets goal should be achieved in a couple of hours..

It has already been achieved (including Paypal)
Is there a public PP counter?
Fargo gave the amount through Tweeter yesterday, If I recall correctly.

I wonder how the Biodrones would react to a game based on Mary Gentles Grunts! which has lines like "Pass me another elf sergeant, this one's split"

...

On second thoughts, I'm not sure I want to know

I never had the Elves book but a lot of the other 2nd edition TSR complete books are generally not like later "power-upper" splat books in other games. Like, the Complete Priests has full-blown nerfs for clerics. Elves might just have seemed bad at the time because it was an unequivocal power-up book before that was the norm and word-concepts for games like buff and nerf didn't exist yet and thus were the source of weird primordial inarticulate butthurt

My respect for inXile just went up with Update #5. No diaper tent sex and no multiplayer.

Too bad Obsidian didn't make a clear statement in their Kickstarter. Instead, they left it up to the posters on their forum to hold the line against the waves of Biodrones squeeing in over 30 separate 'romance' threads and a few multiplayer threads. Would it really have been so hard to make a definitive statement like inXile just did either during the P.E. KS or shortly after? They have never directly addressed the 'romance' subject other than some humorous statements by MCA in an interview (that I'm aware of), and stating that there would be no multiplayer for this project (but left it open for future iterations).

Maybe I missed something, but I didn't notice a mass exodus of pledges to T:ToN since Update #5.
