Wonder if there will be some kind of chaos realm-esque teleportation ability. Maybe forcing you to fight your way through the chaos realm.

Oh, they included the Southern(!) Chaos Wastes, that's a surprise to me.

The map looks good. The IE map removed too much in the south.
But I don't agree with the suggestions in the vid about new sea lanes, like this one:
tDODfwF.jpg

This makes no sense. Sea lanes should simulate the globe on a flat map or make movement past uninhabitable land less boring. They are not teleporters for easy movement that shouldn't be easy.

The one "sea lane" that does go through land (starting near Naggarond) is supposed to be an undersea tunnel in lore that the dark elves use to raid further afield. But I don't see a reason to allow people to teleport all the way from Norsca to the Dragon Isles. Honestly one of the things a lot of people have wished for would be an underway rework to fit more with how it's depicted in the novels and the other lore (think more like Moria than a stance that lets you ignore mountains). Something like that would be a better fit, which might entail faster travel but is not necessarily safe, predictable, or convenient. That's probably a bit too much to expect, but who knows, they reworked more than I think anyone ever expected, and some modders have done more than one would have expected to be possible also.

So the empty area will be DLC right? So I guess like Cathay CA will have the honor of making actual Ind faction or something?

If the DLC sells like hot cakes, probably yes. I'm pretty sure they already realized there are no more factions with official army lists to milk after chaos dwarfs come out, so they future-proofed the map.

I think so.
When WH1 was released, Athel Loren was a similar empty area until the the Wood Elves DLC was released.

Well there is always the WH2 mod factions I guess. Besides the Chaos Dwarves there are the Border Princess and Araby I guess as major faction. But yeah I guess after that is future proofing. Seemingly it's only Ind, I was thinking they gonna make a Nippon island as well.

Definitely. Each of WH3 factions probably gonna get 2 - 3 new LL as their own faction.

Just hopefully there really isn't Skaven favoritism this time.

CA is still sucking China's dick, so it will be Cathay favoritism this time.

Did this game sell well in China anyway?

there really isn't a sales breakdown but pre order was all time high in China due to Cathay ofc

but post launch reception wasn't all that well due to streamer debacle (CA pay Chinese streamer and give early access to them who doesn't even know the series and thus make shit content to promote, Chinese fans unhappy) which contributed to initial low score in store although later actual bad review also comes

the series itself is quite popular in China to begin with, 3 Kingdom during launch period was the fastest selling TW outside Warhammer iirc. But the DLCs plans sucked and didn't manage to attract repeating customer for DLC sales thus support was plugged out

Warhammer TW is BIG and in general the DLCs are more well thought out seeing Warhammer 2 so unless CA make some PR disaster game should do well in China

on the other hand with the current geopolitiking CA might tone China favoritism down as not to make westoids mald I guess

There is no 8th edition Dogs of War army book. But they'll probably use the old one, yeah.

There is no 8th edition army book for Bretonnia and Cathay either.
That did not stop CA from adding them to the game.

They got one proper army book in the 5th edition.

The ones who did not get a full army book were the Chaos Dwarfs who will be added to WH3.
Chaos Dwarfs also have, to my knowledge, the dubious distinction of being the only fully-supported Warhammer army to have never had a true army book. This is not Warhammer Armies: Chaos Dwarfs, but White Dwarf Presents: Chaos Dwarfs, complete with that logo up there with Grombrindal looking extremely grumpy to have to appear on the cover of a book about his race's evil twins*. What that means is that while this in many ways looks like an army book, it's actually a collection of articles originally published in White Dwarf magazine, Games Workshop's specialist hobby magazine. Over a few months, the magazine published background and story, a bestiary, and rules for the Chaos Dwarfs, with even a battle report to boot, and these were gathered together and republished as a book.

So it's not quite an army book. It contains most of what an army book would, but there are still a few gaps. Much worse, though, is the fact that the Chaos Dwarfs (and the Dogs of War which we'll see later) never got any re-release or updated army book, in any later edition. A few Chaos Dwarf models would eventually be created for a brief cameo in Storm of Chaos (2004), as the crew for the mighty Hellcannon, and so crept into later Chaos army books, and the Forgeworld supplement Tamurkhan: The Throne of Chaos (2011) would include a playable updated Chaos Dwarf army list, but specialist Forgeworld books rarely made it into stores. Suffice to say that it has been very, very hard to be a Chaos Dwarf fan.

TBF nobody in CA can fix its awful AI. Not even DLC team. The DLC team understand how to make content, which the base WH3 team not capable off.
is this game more boring the warhammer 2 or does it actually do something more interesting than the previous ones?
The Chaos Realm campaign is shit basically. So just wait for Immortal Empire if you want to see.

New WH3 factions is hit and miss with the Chaos Gods factions suffer basically a very small roster size.

In general Skaven get a lot of love from CA with each LL having something unique.

If you just want stomp some AI Beastmen are the most OP shit since their rework.
