Mass Effect 2 - like, with the mysterious dude ordering you and your team around, and with the apparent focus on companions.

Lessee....Treasure of Sierra Madre, bomb collars from Running Man, maybe some The Shining in the old hotel in the mountains.

Edit: and isn't there a famous Stephen King story in which the guy turns into like a big plant spore or something?

Looks OK. Might be surprisingly good. Looks to be short, though, of course.

Doesn't look bad. I mean, it's a trailer shot in-game so it's very honest that way if consider the flashy CGI Advent Children movie that, for example, Dragon Age promoted itself with.

How long before it comes to PC, though?

Hahahahahaha
Hahahahahaha, no it actually really is.

It looks like shit, even I can agree with that. The graphics are outdated (as is common with Bethesda products) and the plot seems to be that Jigsaw wants to play a little casino heist. Will there be anything else? I hope so, so I'm intrigued, it's not a trailer that whores itself out to the audience.

I knew I needed to stay away from this when I read that Avellone is the project director/creative lead. Not that I planned to play any DLC, but that's like an extra incentive not to bother.

Obsidian is actually working on this? Might be intrigued. Trailer only shows random combat, impossible to gouge whether this add on is going to be decent or not.

Yeah, even if you put in multiple paths/outcomes it doesn't look like this will take much time at all.

Why do you think it will be that short ? Because it will probably be just one dungeon ?

Mostly because of that, but also because if keeping all your companions alive is supposed to be a challenge, they can't be that resilient. Long escort missions with easily-killed followers are the bane of gamers everywhere. I don't think Beth wants to turn this into an exercise in frustration.

Obsidian is making this? Shit, it looks like something Beth would come up with. I expected better of you, Obsidian :decline: . Then again, it's a DLC, which means it's aimed at morons anyway

Obsidian's developing it. Who came up with the initial concept is, as far as I know, unknown. :mca: is treating it like his thing, though, so that's a possibility.

Probably. But I wonder if you aren't giving them too much credit. Bethesda or even Obsidian aren't really geniuses when it comes to gameplay : they might resolve this problem by making the game as easy as NV was - on normal at least. NV was easy enough with even one companion.

My guess is that the "keep your teammates alive" thing is more of a cheap trick to guarantee some character interactions and facilitates the writing.

Also : bald chick. Ass Effect 2, anyone ?

Bald Chick from Ass Effect 2 was already a ripp-off the riddick franchise so who the fuck cares?
