I wanted to buy it but Steam won't let me use my Paypal account now that I moved. That's funny considering other services like GOG and GamersGate, the latter also changing prices and currency based on location, have no problem with that. I guess I'll contact their customer support and see what's up.
steam checks your ip vs the country your paypal acc is registered in. been a fucking nightmare for me too since i moved to potatoland.
you need to buy/log in via the webpage and use the ?cc= suffix with the matching country code.

Thanks, I'll look into it. Of course that means paying in € while I could have the benefit for paying in $ for once. Then again since I saw it is also available on GG and they do not give me that kind of trouble …

Ok, I downloaded and copied the files on a floppy, strapped it to a slice of bread and put it into my toaster. The floppy melted and the bread took fire. I'm not sure about how I should proceed now.

From what I've seen it looks really promising. Everyone's preferences may be different, but I don't understand the concept of alpha/beta testing a single player RPG. I kind of feel like I'd rather experience the best version of a story, instead of diminishing it by playing previous iterations. Especially when there isn't human interaction to lengthen the experience/improve replayability. I've also never been one to replay games to completion as I find playing with a new character is often so barely divergent from my original experience (maybe Witcher 2 being an exception). The concept of replaying iterations of the same thing is kind of meh. I can barely remember the story beats from the IE and FO titles as it is, and I loved those games. The only reason I played so many different character classes/created different personalities in NWN is I got to explore different settings in custom content while doing so. Everyone's mileage will vary though, and if this helps make a better final product which I look forward to purchasing then hooray.

The idea is that the dev needs money to keep working on the game and to make it the best he can. And he needs that money now. So you can try the demo to see if you like it and want the real thing and you can support the dev now so he can deliver. Simply play a couple hours to see where it is going and help you make up your mind -it won't ruin the game for you- and then never touch it again until it's finished.

Sounds like a virus. Call the internet police.

They backtraced the virus so they are already on their way. In the meantime, let's warn people to not buy the game because it installs a virus on their toaster.

How weird, Steam shows that every one of my friends has Underrail, even those I'm 100% they don't:

Currently a bug on Steam where it shows your entire friends list as owning/playing every game.

Anyone know if these guys need the money to finish the game with their main ambitions intact? If so, be inclined to treat it as a kickstarter (contingent on continued performance obviously). I don't normally play beta releases, and actively avoid alphas (for fear of ruining plot without the gameplay to make up for it), but donate the price of early access towards the gamme in anhy event.

It's basically one guy, Styg ,who is making the game so I guess he needs the money or else he wouldn't have put it on steam as a beta release.

Even as an alpha, underrail is a very pleasing RPG.
The combat is challenging and fun. The character creation and development are great. The amount of builds you can come up is quite satisfying, and it really impacts each playthrough. I also like how stealth works and the zone control system, specially since i am a fan of traps.
The main plot is nice so far. I love how Styg feeds you lore through tales some NPCs have to tell.
A little short on c&c from what i have seen. I hope to see more.

My only concern is of how long is this game going to be. I hope it doesn't end up feeling too short.
Other than that, its a very promising game and despite its stage its already quite good.

Keep up the good work Styg!
