Is fist still the best/most fun build?

It's still has best CC options.
Also, you can try now go completely unarmed, there is 2 new feats that gives unarmed more power now.

spear or shottie.

Try spear, it's lotsa fun.

one of its abilities involves throwing your primary means of offense and defense across the room, which sounds interesting (and it is) but is also hilariously self-destructive, potentially.

Just have spare spear, really. Or two.

I clicked on a locker in the medicine store in Core City and triggered NPC hostility. So it seems like it's a bit random whether or not you can click stuff.

I clicked locker of that mechanic in CC, and lost hour of progression.

I think max damage potential can go up a lot with feats & other tricks geared towards the crit proc.

Bursts!

Turn right after Alpha Centauri
Junkyard is a controlled zone. The game explicitly tells you that any trap that damages or kills opponents WILL be tracked back to you
doesn't make it a good mechanic

That is miles better than what Bethesda did. You can play murder hobo but you have to suffer actual consequences.

now what is earliest and easiest way of obtaining set of protectorate tags? free maura? do you need to kill everyone or can sneak dispose 3 soldiers?

EDIT: looks like being surgical is fine

Pickpocketing could do the trick as well if you so fancy.

I just got the new expansion. I'm just curious if anyone knows, but is the expansion actually larger than the base game? The more than doubled file size from the last version without the DLC has me wondering.

It's about the size of Lower Underrail

It is not larger but it is big, also it ads a lot to the base game. Now we have a complete map with river tiles that you could explore with a jet-ski . The new thing doesn't have much of a quest content but it have quite the dungeons and a lot of land and water to explore. Writing is pretty good too.

It is bigger, only the expedition are is like 140 tiles, that is without the dungeons and the new river tiles.

Also did you managed to dock on the pirate docks without getting in a shootout?

Am I doing something wrong or
is the "infiltrate the pirate base" to free the Professor the most annoying ass mission in the entire world? I went all through Port Crag, didn't find jack shit, and now I'm going through Port Ceto hoping that this is where he's being kept. It is a huge fucking pain in the ass to sneak around this base. If I could guess, I imagine the Destroyer is where the Professor is being kept, but it seems virtually impossible to access that area without instantly being bombarded by pirates. I realize I can just take the "negotiate" route but my speech skills are all low.

If rearming could draw directly from spears in the inventory instead of requiring you to spend 50 AP (or burn a feat to spend only 25 AP!) to re-equip as normal, I'd agree. As it is, losing an entire turn's worth of AP to re-equip from inventory is a steep payment for a single throw.

I think he meant a spare spear in your off-hand, so you press X and toggle in between.

Well, where in the fuck am I supposed to keep my Jackknife, then? Are you suggesting I should leave it in my inventory and hot-swap like some sort of peasant? :negative:

What metal produces the best weapons? Tungsten machetes seem the best so far, and a TiChrome bar I managed to buy turned out to be underwhelming and very similar to standard steel. To be fair, it was fairly low quality TiChrome. But what metal should I be looking for to make the best possible machete I can?

Also aren't spears two handed weapons? From what i remember getting the feat for one arm lowers its damage.

Different metals have different bonuses, tungsten is best for pure damage. Check out the underrail wiki form more info.

My suboptimal shotgunmelee hobo has survived depot A. With not too much suffering actually. I picked up 25 psycho for stunfist and walls and combined with crafted molotovs and dirty kick could manage the battlefields.

....yes thats a psi pill on a 10 con character. We will see how this demented fellow survives later on

Yeah but that doesn't matter, you can have a primary weapon and a secondary no matter how many appendages must be used to hold them.

After all, you can't dual-wield knives or anything.

Typically for melee weapons, Steel is the base material with very slightly higher crit chance, Tungsten offers some crit damage bonus boost, TiChrome is lighter and has reduced AP cost, and finally Super Steel retains Steel's crit chance boost while also boosting the weapon's special property (energy shield bypass for daggers, stun chance for hammers, etc.).

It depends on your build and what you like best.

Thanks.

Also I want to point out that psionic mentors don't fit into any inventory category other than "all" or "non-plot". Maybe they should be classified as "tools"?

Is low investment on Psycho a viable strategy? Or will the fist start to consistently be resisted by everyone later on?

Is that the F12 location? You can get there super easily you just have to land at the start of the basalt shit and put on fire protection, it's a really weird landing zone

The marshes are 100% skippable I think, since you can sail past the pirates to get to L2

idk why they didn't change the inventory UI, vehicle parts I can't seem to find at all except through the main menu

In the next expansion, Underrail: Emergence, we'll get to explore the surface world and eventually discover that Underrail is the equivalent of 19th-century Australia, where the surface dwellers throw all the insufferable cunts after a quick memory wipe.

Major additions: children, functional plumbing, the concept of bathing, laser rifles, and hovercraft.

I just rescued him with infiltration. He's actually in the other big building.

Yes, but not for stun punch. Mainly for force field, also for electrokinetic imprint and disruptive field. Imprint will stun really well even with low skill.

I like the expansion but the loading times combined with fast jet skies are really annoying. Isn't as much an issue in the base game because areas aren't empty water.

Yes, if you don't have 10 AGI you have to go through 3 spider areas. Enjoy!

Killing everyone is always a good idea, great loot so early in the game, extremely early energy shield.

Hey, do you know if there is more than one rift in the Black Sea areas?
How many rifts have you discovered in total? I would appreciate if you shared your findings.

So far, I know about 11:

- Dude's home,
- Gray Army military base,
- Core City entrance,
- Core City player's house,
- South Gate Station
- Junkyard,
- Rail Crossing,
- Foundry,
- Oculus,
- University station,
- Deep Cavern elevator,
- Black Sea Expedition camp.

My impression is that there's only 1 rift in the Black Sea because they don't want someone to get stranded with no juice and no jet ski.
There's also apparently 17 rifts in total, including one on each level of Core City, some by the crawlers and down a ladder across from the weapons merchant. Also one in the Camp in a corner by a fence
There is one on the black eels platform.

What area is that? The ##.
