Alright, so, they really need to fix group combat, in that allies can get it into their head to run headlong into caltrops thrown or fire created by you, immediately blame you for their own retardation, and then proceed to murder you.

I'll check but I'm quite sure they did damage to themselves on my run.
They do dmg but its ~20 per shot.

-edit-
Awrite, with Future Orientation you can keep shuffling Stasis and Forcefield indefinitely, praise be LTI, as foretold!

The first Expedition quest, muties are asking me to get them some medicines from Aegis camp.
I've contacted Briggs using navcom, but there is no dialogue option to ask him about supplies. Doc Savage says that i should ask Briggs first. I can't even lie to Doc, because there is no option to ask him again.

How often are random encounters supposed to trigger? Never encoutered any of the cool stuff.
never encountered them on my first playthrough, but on my current playthrough i've encountered three of them so far (cannibals, arsonist and Animal's gang).

I actually encountered the Arsonist in the Lurker tunnnels, I was making a bunch of noise with my Jackhammer which alerted everyone so he started a huge shitstorm against Lurkers way out of my LoS, and he took down a bunch of Lurkers for me before he dutifully went down, now that was random and cool.

Btw, higher level incendiares definitely create taller flames that are more damaging lukaszek

Does Smart Modules apply to Snipe? It was never clear to me what an "unconditional" special attack is. I'm not sure if I should slap a Smart Module on my sniper rifle just to make Snipe even crazier (if applicable), or if I should just go with a nice Bipod for the extra precision.

Unconditional = "a special attack that does not have a cooldown or require special conditions to trigger."

For guns, only bursts have been affected, even Rapid Fire was left alone, although no one will really make a Smart + Rapid Fire focused build since Rapid Fire is held down by its cooldown that can't be easily reduced.

I think Rapid Fire should be buffed so that its cooldown is just 1 turn and even that can be specialized away into nothingness, at that point someone making a smart SMG/AR build would actually be feasible, something approximating the smart burst builds of old.

Unconditional means no cooldown. The restriction is basically there to stop people with SMGs/ARs bursting nonstop and getting the smart bonus on every single one of their attacks. So yeah, go ahead and use it. Sniper rifles like smart modules a lot.

Not sure what the chance is, but I've encountered some so far:
  1. An arsonist somewhere in the Lower Underrail
  2. Timon and Pumba
  3. A couch full of empty mushroom brew bottles in the Upper Caves, appropriately placed right in the cave outside of Dude's cave home
  4. Some exiled muties in the Upper Caves
  5. Doctor Zilch in Core City (twice, because the first time I stupidly drank the thing he wanted me to drink)
  6. A wounded man near a Lurker's dead body, right outside the entrance from Lower Underrail to Free Drone's base near Rail Crossing
The Hives are retarded. Almost lost my will to continue. What the fuck is this shit!?
If you have stealth, you don't need to bother with them. Mind you, the Hives act like an entity with their 'vision' fixed to an area where they'll detect you faster, so if you sneak 'behind' them they'll slow to detect you, and might as well not even raise their detection meter at all. You can exploit this behavior and plant a TNT to destroy a Hive, though you'll need to deal with some of the swarms anyway because jumping out of a Hive getting blasted by a TNT charge unscathed is possible I guess. Easy when dealing with a lone hive, tricky when there's 2 or more, nigh impossible when one is placed right near a body of water where their 'behind' is basically water.
Speaking of which, those hives placed at the edge of water close to exit grid can go fuck themselves.
Edit: The second Natives raid spawned 30+ enemies. I managed to defend my position but not without 1 casualty.
If it's the second raid, you should've noticed that you can plant some traps long before they attack again. Should've gone to it right after the first attack.

he perhaps subsequently realized (due to forum discussion) that many people were taking Quick Tinkering + strategic levels of the Traps skill as an afterthought on many builds that otherwise wouldn't bother, to great effect.

Now everyone is gonna be taking TM. Styg's wizardphilia strikes again.

QT is meme at this point, since instead of a feat, you can spend 45 in Psycho and use imprint, for less AP and a stun instead of a root.
In terms of power, yes. But not in terms of availability; obviously, if you know where the psionic mentor is, you can beeline for it. But coming back to the game after a few years, tbh I don't remember where the majority of items are. Still haven't found it. Someone playing for the first time might not run across it that early either. Bear traps you can buy in large quantities from the start, including the poisoned ones.
It's also a random drop so you can luck out getting it, I got mine in Expedition.
There's an Electrokinetic Imprint mentor as a fixed loot in a barrel in Lurker's base in the Lower Passages. To be precise, it's right around the dogfight arena.

That isn't quite correct.

Originally, you couldn't use Burst nonstop at all, because it had a 1-turn cooldown. The whole concept of "unconditional special attacks" was invented for the sole purpose of decoupling Smart Module bonuses from Burst (mainly AR Burst), at which time the cooldown was removed. The unrestricted usage is little more than a consolation prize for being stripped of damage bonuses.

To be completely fair, it was a bit bonkers:

My q120ish Chimera can deal 500+ damage FROM ONE BULLET (out of 7) if it crits during a burst attack. One bullet!

Making a maximized critical chance Chimeric Cleric build with the blue scope and everything was more fun anyway, and still is, big floating numbers everywhere!

I'm getting random 'new and cool items that my character can't use' drops so far. (but at least she can use the cash to fuel her scientific endeavours :D)

Thing is, I don't remember where the lurker base is either.

east from free drones base.
That, or just explore the entire Lower Passages. It's rather small, and you can say pretty much the entirety of Lower Passages is the Lurker's base, with the exception of the Free Drones base of course.

I know that one's there, but it's the most out of the way one, that's why I describe finding it as lucking out. It's also the best one that can't be bought, kinda makes sense.

I gotta say, the game not having a way to sort by weight is annoying as hell. I'm getting really tired of playing "What the fuck is weighing me down?".

Part of gameplay, by level 10 you should know the heavy hitters by heart. By that I mean glimpse a screen and insta alt-click on the plates, hammers, armors, rifles, hearts, guts...

Soon you'll be hauling 1000 weight out of random shitholes

Given the across the board hate being shown for certain gameplay aspects of the expansion, I wonder how these weren't addressed during the testing phase where community members were giving feedback.

The community members who were testing were autists who spent at-least 500+ hours on underrail. They were much busier posting screenshots of 4k+ spear throws and the likes...

It's absolutely correct. The burst cooldown was removed in August 2014. The change to not work with unconditional special attacks was made in December 2018. Smart ARs/SMGs were a thing for over four years. And an extremely popular thing, which is why Styg nerfed them. Now there's a lot more variety in what mods people use, instead of everyone ever using smart and rapid because you were insane if you didn't. Though everyone still always takes rapid. Wonder if Styg will nerf that too someday.

I got into Depot A with my first play through and now I am realizing my pistol build sucks. Is Depot A the spot where you realize if you have a good build or not? I am getting killed in seconds everytime I go in there.
