It is as autistic as you want it to be. Most of the veterans are at this point playing thematic meme builds on Dominating, and that's where otherwise minor nerfs and buffs can make or break a character. Playing a relatively normal build on Hard and below is perfectly fine, although you might end up having to restart a couple times if you mess things up too much. Do note that the game pretty much requires you to specialize, jacks of all trades are not particularly viable there. How autistic is this game?
(How long does one need to set aside to learn UnderRail / git gud to a basic level?)
it might depend on your luck with getting burrower and wild pigs oddities. 3 protectorate tags can be reclaimed if you are able to go murderhobo during free maura quest. There is an issue with 4xp from insignias, I think scrapper on can be found in one of the containers in scrapper shop. Its possible to stealth grab itcan you even get to 10 w/o pickpocket?
Sure, a high risk, high reward 'glass cannon' would be cool, or some noob-friendly specialisation in firearms / ranged damage?I echo what Tigranes said. You can make your own build if you follow some basic guidelines, but if you're asking me what I'd recommend, it depends on how you want to play. Any requests? Do you want to use Guns, Crossbows, Melee Weapons, Psionics? Do you want to be stealthy? Glass Cannon? Tanky? There is a ton of variety, so you can really play the game how you want to play it.
Sneaky glass cannons are fun but hard. Noob-friendly build is tin can (heavy armor + assault rifle).
Not sure how is that different since latest update though? There's an alternative questline to skip arena and oligarchs, both of which forced kills.
eh, I'm not a good build maker, the local maniacs can probably come up with something.you got a tin can assault build?Sneaky glass cannons are fun but hard. Noob-friendly build is tin can (heavy armor + assault rifle).
As far as I'm aware you can still do arena and oligarchs just fine. No idea if you can do it the other way around, first starting the new questline and then joining an oligarch, but I would assume so.Not sure how is that different since latest update though? There's an alternative questline to skip arena and oligarchs, both of which forced kills.
What's the cutoff point, or rather can you still join a faction?
One of my favorite builds was my Thought Control Sniper build. Utilized stealth to set myself up in a good position, set up traps to slow down the enemy and damage them, and finally I finished off any stragglers or enemies that got to close with mind melting Psionic powers. I beat the game on hard without even using any crafting, which is very powerful. Does that sound attractive? You'll be reloading a lot as a first time player, but I think it's very doable, especially on normal.Sure, a high risk, high reward 'glass cannon' would be cool, or some noob-friendly specialisation in firearms / ranged damage?I echo what Tigranes said. Character building isn't critical in difficulties below Dominating, which has a lot of leeway anyway. But heed this: use consumables. Really, use them. Unlike most CRPGs, they are genuinely useful/powerful, even to the end of the game. But everyone keeps telling me Styg breaks half of the builds with every update, haha.
Okay though, what kinda build would my dearest Chon recommend?
I don't really know what "plan ahead for crafting" means, and I might want to try Hard. I've only ever played psi before, pre-Expedition.I mean the best possible build where stealth is the main skill/feat investment. With the oddity system and pickpocket I know you can avoid a surprising amount of combat, but ultimately this is still a combat game so any build is a murderhobo build.Depending on what you mean by "stealthiest possible murderhobo", crossbow will probably be able to pull of stealthy kills knife couldn't because it's ranged. What are everyone's thoughts on the stealthiest possible murderhobo? I feel like it would mean either going all-in on crossbows and traps, or pure knife melee with a bit of throwing, without much point in splitting the difference between them, but I'm by no means a master underrail buildsmith like a lot of the people here.
As long as you invest in stealth and plan ahead for crafting, doesn’t really matter what you run on Normal.
how would you make a fuctional spear+riot armor build for hard (psi is forbiden)? i played with it a bit when expeditions was out it was really slow and low dmg compared to a sword build.
went for 10/6/6/8/3/3/5 and nimble/iron grip/impale/board up/sprint/cheap shots/shield arm/shield bash, wanted max con for thick skull but iron grip needs 11 str.
was curious what one can get from blaine at lvl8. Now I have component for q100 tichrome winged spear that ill be able to craft at lvl9. depotA is going to be fun.
Going for 13 AGI, I think ill pump dex afterwards for better throwing skill? Hitting things at max range is hard

What the hell you can go to Blaine before Depot A? How
What have I been doing the last ten years
There's more to it. Nothing you can do at that particular encounter though.Just met a robed figure in drop zone, he's trying to hack into a locked door. It's tchortist going by his inventory. If I interact with him he runs and eventually disappears. Is there anything to this encounter or should I just kill him?
That's the right stat lineup, but you can knock your constitution down to 7, as 8 Constitution doesn't offer anything to the build. In terms of damage, it's true that Spears take some time to ramp up. It won't be until around level 16 or so that you really start to put the hurt onto people, but once the build gets going, it feels great. I make sure to have two spears that I can switch between, so when you throw one away you can jab with the other. Once you have a strong energy shield, you become super resistant against most forms of damage. Ranged attacks bounce off your shield, and melee attacks get blocked. Strong recommend.how would you make a fuctional spear+riot armor build for hard (psi is forbiden)? i played with it a bit when expeditions was out it was really slow and low dmg compared to a sword build.

It's a fair investment. Unless you're running a specifically feat hungry build, once you get your main core, the rest become quality of life.I'm starting to wonder if I should go Pack Rathound. I have 7 strength and only pick up valuable items, but the added versatility in weapons and ammo I could carry may well be worth a feat. I'm barely getting by as is.
