For some reason the sequel involves Croteam. Probably part of their indie incubator thing.

Built on a brand new bespoke 3D engine, the game retains Unity of Command’s signature art style and delivers highly polished fluid gameplay. Easily accessible yet hard to master, Unity of Command II is the highly anticipated sequel to the cult classic that’s been turning novice players into battle-hardened grognards since 2011.

Unity of Command II lets you take command of Western Allies for the first time in the series. You will manage your army’s divisions as well as their supply and logistics. For the first time in Unity of Command you will face Fog of War. Reveal the unknown by capturing enemy soldiers and launching recon to gather intel on enemy troop positions. The enemy will seek to capture your units’ stragglers — regroup and strike back!

Key Features
  • Dynamic Campaign — Rewrite the history of the Second World War with a branching campaign where no two playthroughs are alike.
  • Headquarters — This new feature places army headquarters on the map, from which you will direct unit reorganization, bridging and resupply. Headquarters are not only essential to reinforcing and recovering lost unit strength, but are also able to deploy special abilities such as Emergency supply, redeploying units using HQ trucks, and many more.
  • Theater Assets — This feature from the original game is greatly expanded in Unity of Command II. Wreak havoc behind enemy lines by sabotaging infrastructure. Order your aircraft to provide aerial recon, contest air superiority, or deliver devastating bombing runs. Sustain units behind enemy lines with an air supply bridge.
  • Bonus Objectives — Participate in optional history-altering “what-if” objectives — lead the Western Allied charge to beat the Soviets to Berlin, or cancel Operation Market Garden to reinforce Patton’s army.
  • Fog of War - Deal with your enemies — but you’ll have to find them first. Reveal enemy positions by capturing stragglers, upgrading the HQ and using its special abilities such as Short Range Recon.
  • Deep Operations — Unity of Command changed the world of turn-based strategy games forever by introducing its signature feature, supply lines. Keep a watchful eye on your logistics while planning to strike deep beyond enemy lines, sever supply lines and encircle enemy units.
  • Accessible Scenario Editor — Unity of Command II features a full-fledged Allied campaign, with the addition of several defining battles of WWII that can be experienced from the Axis side. The game comes with a built-in scenario editor, allowing players to create and share new battlefields using the integrated Steam Workshop support.

Unity of Command II is the sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed strategy games of all time; a game critics called 'the perfect gateway' into computer war games.

Looking forward to this. Im a huge fan of these type of 'simple' wargames (compared to GG stuff with 800 page manuals) with pleasant graphics. This started with the original PG..

UoC did feel a little bit too much like a tactical puzzle with zero opportunity to correct even the slightest mistake, hopefully this gets addressed in version 2.

That was the dev's intention and the sequel is gonna follow the same mindset.

You can play the maps in UoC pretty quickly, compared to other wargames at least. So I don't mind the puzzle aspect too much. If they hew closely to the same formula the second game should be good as well.

Ok, that is a bit of a shame, but still will get the game.

We know the first one and that's why I'm not interested in Illusion of Command no matter how good this looks.

Coming in November: http://www.croteam.com/unity-of-com...vember-closed-beta-starting-later-this-month/

Unity of Command II is launching this November, closed beta starting later this month

Hey everyone!

Over the past couple of months, you have seen us periodically talk about our co-production effort with the legendary strategy masterminds from 2×2 Games, Unity of Command II. Other than a few streams and trailers that showcased the gameplay it was all talk so far, but as Mr. Dylan would say – times, they are a-changin’.

We’re super happy today to announce that the development of Unity of Command II is all but finished, and the game is slated for November 2019 release on Steam. Before 2×2 Games launches the game, they are looking for a brand new batch of beta testers to join the wargaming fun in an upcoming closed-beta due to start on October 21st.

To sign up for a chance to participate, get more info on the beta, and check out a brand new dev-diary, please go to unityofcommand.net.

The private beta will be available Windows via Steam and will include single-player and hot-seat multiplayer modes.

Follow Unity of Command on Twitter and like it on Facebook. Follow Croteam on Twitter and Instagram, like us on Facebook, and subscribe to our YouTube channel. Oh, and don’t forget to join our ever-growing Croteam family on Discord and Reddit.

UoC was a fun simple game, so I'm down for some more, however, UoC2 seems to have some card based systems, which usually mean rather poor gameplay for me.

Didn't UOC1 have them as well? Or maybe it's Decisive Campaigns that I'm thinking of. Been a while since I've played UOC.

Decisive Campaigns had cards. I did not play Unity much but I think it hadn't but it was an indredibly retarded puzzle game, with very nice graphics.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Is it as puzzly as the first game?
I liked the system but hated the focus on getting high scores in preset scenarios.

Playing the campaign. Very fun, but I would like that some info would be shown on the screen, like the terrain bonuses. They are mostly intuitive but a few tooltips would make easier to learn the exact terrain influence on combat calculations for more autismo sano.

Great game I think. I like a lot how the supply system interacts with the action. It's also a friendly game for wargame noobs like me, without being too easy or dumbed down.

Oh, yeah, looks like I am finally going to be buying this game. Have been waiting for this. Watch them be butthurt in some weird way about how popular their own product is.... because 'nazis'...lol..felt like they really did not want to create a genuine German campaign for some reason, but maybe I am being too paranoid?

Anyway, looking forward to this, did not like UoC 1, but UoC II looks much better to me...

Ah, UoC2 was miles above the first one - way less puzzle, plenty of decisions to take not only tactical but strategical (which cards to take, which general specialisation, where to deploy the supply). Sadly, the first 2 maps of UOC2 are really not the best nor the easiest, as you need to break heavily fortified Italo-German troops. But once you are landing in Sicily it starts to get reaaaalll good.

anyone can pm me steam files, im on company notebook and it cant update something fucks it up either the notebook or the connection, if i try veryfing it just sets me back to first step and it tries to download again. either the update or the blitzkrieg dlc i bought is not agreeing with download because i got base game on usb and it was working, before i connected to update and download the dlc. Perhaps if i overwrite files rather than try to download it it will work.

This is a rare example of a wargame going 3d and not looking like total ass. The minifigure look of the units is actually kinda cute and the visuals seem pretty clean

Does this game turn the computer in a plasma furnace like panzer commander 2?
