Vampire Bloodlines engine error

Everytime I try to start up Bloodlines, it comes up with the error "parent template 'scurrying' not loaded before dependant template 'npcgeneric'". I have the 1.2 patch and the latest 3.5 unofficial patch installed, if that helps.

I have something similar though it's been a long time ago. The game starts as far as to the loading screen/video and then it's bugged as shit, the screen is gone only the cursor remains and stuff.

Don't know if it's a engine(graphical?) error in the game or if it's my video card which is messing with me (Radeon 9800 Pro) but I've given up on it and play it at a friends house instead when we are bored.
