Combat looks very nuXcom. Not that I mind, though, it's fast and smooth. The animations are looking good already, too.

I wish you luck, dude, but I don’t envy you. I wish there were more creators even a fraction as driven as you are, particularly for underrepresented genre spaces like “magical creatures living in post-industrial periods.” Bloodlines came out 20 years ago this Halloween season, but nobody has yet to create memorable follow ups. We’ve gotten medieval fantasy crpgs by the thousands, but somehow the post-industrial period has been almost completely ignored.
Yeah, trying such projects without programmer/coding background sounds like a disaster, you are a writer / designer / creative lead kind of a guy. Tyranicon are you outsourcing writing code?
I know a little bit of coding and Unreal is mature enough at this point with visual scripting (blueprints) that it's not like I'll ever need to be writing C++ in Sublime. But yes, I can't use blueprints for everything and I'm already working with some coders to make the battle system, which will be the hardest part.

Most of the reason I feel confidant in making a game on Unreal is because I have enough experience to know how a game is put together. This is just a bigger iteration of what I've been doing so far.
Caveat to all that is that you might face some issues optimizing your game for performance without some decent programming fundamentals. Try not to allocate / deallocate too many objects every frame.

Personally, I'm ok with AI generated art, provided it's clearly labeled as such. You should probably put the fact that this has AI created content on your steam page, afaik it's a requirement. And I've seen many angry nerds in the discussions for other games bitching about unlabeled AI content.

I do have it labeled for my AI art parody project, despite it not even using that much AI.

Vampire Syndicate will have very little in the way of AI visuals in-game, at least on my end. It's getting harder to make these promises since a lot of assets come with generative AI bits, and even 2D artists use AI for their stuff now.

It's a completely homemade system so it's hard to describe. In more mainstream places I describe combat as "XCOM + BG3" but that's entirely because of their brand recognition and not because it's an accurate descriptor.

To my knowledge I can't recall of another system similar enough to mine for me to namedrop, but it'll be very familiar to turn-based enthusiasts.

AP as a resource can be increased.

It's probably early in development, but please make the UI stylish, fitting to the theme of the game.
