Yet another VtM video game, is "a single-player narrative experience" from a small Polish developer named Draw Distance (formerly iFun4All).

Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York presents the conflict between two vampiric factions: the traditionalist Camarilla and the fiercely independent Anarchs among the iconic landmarks and night lights of The Big Apple. It's a unique, atmospheric, single-player narrative experience, set in a rich, fully licensed, globally recognized universe of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition.
  • Choose your character from one of several distinct Clans
  • Every playable character offers unique powers (Disciplines), different ethical approaches to certain issues, and dialogue lines
  • Character-oriented quests allow you to create your own coterie and shape your relations by reinforcing NPC loyalties
  • Highly replayable - choices made in the game are reflected by the game's changing fiction
  • Various endings depending on your actions - which conclusion will you reach?
  • Suitable for both Vampire: The Masquerade veterans, and fans of mature narrative-driven games who are newcomers to the setting
The game does justice to the mature themes of the World of Darkness, and takes advantage of the excellent atmosphere of the source material. It also creates new stories, which, thanks to the full creative license, will be incorporated as official lore of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition.

What is Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York?
Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York aims to translate the complex and fascinating world of vampires, their nightly struggles for power and attempts to hold on to their humanity, to a format previously unexplored by the brand - an atmospheric narrative experience. Think interactive story meets choices-that-matter; dark, atmospheric, emotional narration meets Telltale-like way of creating morally challenging dilemmas, answers to which are entirely up to the players, allowing them to reach one of a variety of possible endings.

How does Coteries of New York play?
You act as a newly-fledged vampire in New York. You have to learn what it means to be one of the Kindred in a huge, vibrant, contemporary metropolis. On your way you’ll meet different NPCs – other vampires, thin-bloods, ghouls, humans... and more. You will perform tasks that will put test your humanity and take part in a complex and often brutal struggle for power between the Camarilla and the Anarchs. You’ll build your Coterie and learn your undead companions’ deepest secrets… or see them abandon you. You’ll feast on the living and will ask yourself about the very nature of humanity and will feel the constant lure of the Beast inside you. You will make choices for the character, including which storylines to pursue and how to approach the different situations presented. You will take part in a narrative experience with branching dialogue choices, memorable characters - all among iconic locales of the Big Apple. You’ll be able to use Disciplines to charm, sneak, intimidate or kill and your choices will determine your path.

If it’s called Vampire: The Masquerade, does that mean you have something in common with World of Darkness, Bloodlines 2, the cult tabletop RPG system, or...?
Yes, exactly! Coteries of New York is set in a fully licensed universe of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition! However, even if you know nothing about the setting, don't fret! The game is designed to meet the expectations of both Vampire: The Masquerade veterans, and new players, who never had an opportunity to delve into the World of Darkness.

What about replayability and post-launch support?
You’ll be able to choose your character from three different vampires, representing three iconic Camarilla Clans (we’ll unveil them at a later date). Every character has access to a different set of Disciplines (unique supernatural skills that are characteristic to that Clan) and different narration. Your initial choice also influences your Coterie members’ approach to you, dialogue lines, possible side quests etc. Hence, it takes hours to experience every piece of content we prepared. You’ll go through the main quest, side quests and loyalty quests (aimed to build closer relations between the protagonist and members of your Coterie). BUT one playthrough is definitely not enough to see every piece of content we’ve prepared.

As for post-launch support, you can definitely expect new, standalone stories, enriching the lore, telling different bloody stories from the history of vampiric New York and adding new twists to interpersonal plots.

Which platforms will Coteries of New York be available on?
Coteries of New York will be available on PC (Windows, MAC OS, Linux) and Nintendo Switch. The game will launch on both platforms simultaneously. Other platforms, like PS4 and Xbox One, are not out of the question, but we're taking a "wait and see" approach.

When will Coteries of New York be released?
Coteries of New York will be released in Q4 2019! We’ll unveil the final date when we’re closer to launch.

Which language versions will be supported?
That's a huge and very difficult topic because of localisation costs and time constraints. We understand that Vampire: The Masquerade has fans all over the world and we would like Coteries of New York to be available in many different languages, including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese. We'll be able to share more information closer to launch.

Will the game support controllers?
Yes! As Coteries of New York will launch simultaneously on PC and Switch, you’ll be able to play the PC version both with mouse and keyboard, as well as with a controller. Full list of supported controllers will be revealed closer to launch.

Makes me think, if Telltale is alive there should be a VtM: The Telltale Series at this point. I guess this is even lower-budget version of that.

Stay tuned, we'll be sharing more info about gameplay soon! :)

Yeah, right... more like lack of gameplay

We won't try to convince you right now. There is gameplay, but we're not talking about it at this moment. We wanted to let people know that there is another Vampire game in development. Something they could enjoy before Bloodlines 2 is released. We still have some time to tell you more about gameplay.

The Steam release date is Q4 of 2019, but there's no gameplay screenshots or videos available anywhere by the looks of it.

New York means you can play as Trumpire clan, you also fight Ghostbusters that are better equipped than regular vampire hunters.

Is Trump more Tzimisce or Ventrue (with a touch of Malkavian)?

Anyway, this looks like a Polish version of a Telltale V:tM game that never was. If anything it's like Wolf Among Us I might even take a gander.

Well the problem with any kind of playable Sabbat PnP or not is just it either dives deep into edgy edgemaster edgelordism, or it will dilute what the Sabbat is no matter what level we're at (at worst into just being edgier Anarchs). It's sort of why the default to a player asking you as ST if they can play with a Path of Enlightenment must, unless in extreme and unusual circumstances like dealing with emotionally mature people, be "no motherfucker." In almost any scenario, the Sabbat is best treated as something seen from the outside, whether False Sabbat or True Sabbat or Black Hand or Tal'mahe'Ra (althought you should probably just not have Tal'mahe'Ra, the Tal'mahe'Ra was basically shitballed from the setting with extreme prejudice for a reason). Tzimisce in Dark Ages tho, full steam ahead bruh.

IIRC xir is not ancient.
Yea Rudi's basically just a tough dude, not an elder much less a methuselah.

(And honestly, I think the only real issue with Rudi's tiny blurb is that calling him "the Bear Gangrel" is just unadulterated ham and corn; otherwise it's just a shrug whatever)

Toreador.

EDIT: Also is it just me, or does "rich, fully licensed, globally recognized" sound like something out of a car commercial?

To be completely honest, I just treat the Sabbat as the Camarilla's more ruthless competitor with quasi-religious goals on top of the usual dictatorial desires.

I feel that overall the status quo change in V5 with the Sabbat going full vampire ISIS in general will help newbies get the gist and a better presentation of what the sect is like (from the perspective of an average lick at least). It's definately an easy way to reconcile some of the odd contradictions in the Sabbat previously, and to make the primary mission of the Army of Caine more prominent. I suppose it also makes the Sabbat more terrifying if you don't know where they are before you come across their handiwork.

Rather than, you know, some scary guys hanging out at a range where Prince LaCroix can throw rocks or poo at their clubhouse from his office window.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York is a unique single-player blend of atmospheric adventure and emotional narration full of choices, set in the rich, licensed universe of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition. The game presents the bitter conflict between two vampiric factions - the Camarilla and the Anarchs – which plays out among the night lights of New York City. As a newly-fledged vampire you have to learn what it means to be one of the Kindred in an enormous, vibrant metropolis. You will meet other vampires, thin-bloods, ghouls, regular mortals... and more.

You can choose a character representing one of several vampiric Clans, each of them with unique powers, different ethical dilemmas, and dialogues. Your experiences will test your morality and force you to take part in a struggle for power between rivaling factions. You’ll feast on the living and ask yourself about the very nature of humanity while resisting the lure of the Beast inside you. Your choices matter and are reflected during the game as well as in distinctly different paths to the finale. Additionally, character-oriented quests allow you to create your own coterie and shape the relations with your companions.

The first glimpse of the gameplay will be revealed in early August. Stay tuned!

Hello, everyone! How has summer been treating you so far?

Here at Draw Distance, we’re longingly staring at the blue skies outside our windows as we’re entering the final phases of development of Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York, our upcoming narrative-focused, fully licensed game set in the globally renowned universe of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition.

As time passes, we unveil more and more information about Coteries of New York. In our last press release, published by many media outlets around the world, we shared tons of data regarding the gameplay, mechanics and story.

Here’s the tl;dr list of key information we shared about Coteries of New York:

  • Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York presents the conflict between two vampiric factions: the traditionalist Camarilla and the fiercely independent Anarchs in New York
  • It's a unique, atmospheric, single-player narrative experience, set in the rich, fully-licensed, globally-recognized universe of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition.
  • Coteries of New York present players with choices that matter, aiming to deliver a dark, atmospheric, and emotional narration mixed with morally challenging dilemmas, and many potential paths leading to the story’s finale.
  • We plan to include significant branching and reactivity, so that the players feel their decisions influence the world around them and encourage multiple playthroughs for those invested in the world and story of Coteries of New York.
  • You are a newly-fledged vampire in New York. You must learn what it means to be one of the Kindred in a huge, vibrant, contemporary metropolis.
  • You will make choices for your character, including which storylines to pursue and how to approach the different situations presented. You will be presented with branching dialogue choices, memorable characters - all among iconic locales of New York City. You’ll be able to use Disciplines appropriate to your clan to charm, sneak, intimidate or kill, and your choices will determine your path.
  • You’ll build your Coterie and learn your undead companions’ deepest secrets… or see them abandon you.
  • Although you start off as part of the authoritarian vampire sect called the Camarilla, you soon learn that other factions exist - chief among them, the independent Anarchs. Your paths will inevitably cross theirs, but whether you choose to shun them, or try to learn more about what they represent, will be your decision.
  • While the game is primarily text-driven and story oriented, several mechanics reflect the dark truths of being one of the Kindred.
  • Hunger is used to indicate the constant need for blood that vampires must deal with nightly. Characters have the opportunity to hunt for blood during quests. Ignoring this need leads to warnings in the game’s fiction, and if disregarded for too long, to consequences that include succumbing to the Beast
  • Humanity is a measure of how moral and rooted in humanistic principles the character is. This rating is used by the game to modify the results of choices in quests, offer additional story choices, or even lock certain choices out.
  • Finally, the Masquerade rating tracks how well the character blends in with mortal society. Staying inconspicuous and hidden from prying eyes is even more important for vampires than ever, due to the existence of the so-called Second Inquisition, a clandestine hunt for vampires concealed within global government agencies. Secrecy and not flaunting your supernatural powers in the sight of mortals is of utmost importance.

That’s all the information we’ve prepared for today. In the upcoming updates we will unveil more about the characters, Clans, Disciplines and different types of quests!

Oh, and by the way, check out the game's main page on Steam - you'll find four brand new pre-alpha screenshots there!

We're hope you're pleased with the amount and weight of the information we provided. Stay tuned, as we're preparing to share our first gameplay trailer with you soon!

Thanks!
Best,
Jacek @ Draw Distance team

I'm not a visual novel fan, but this art is just so fucking bad.... The guy is like drawn with chalk on a wall or smth. They got the most untalented, cheapest artists in the entire bizz.
