Space Marine is a almost but somehow not great action game that is sorely missing out on good set-pieces. It starts out well enough with the whole bringing down of an orc warship but then takes a nosedive (hurr) into a shitload of corridors and elevators. Shame.

Still fun in small doses though.

Granted I didn't even bother playing it, but I did watch a bro play the game. It seemed to be extremely linear and boring, kinda hated the whole jetpack hurkadurka smash mechanic.

Is torrent gud though?

Some torrent releases need Steam :M
Lies. Usually they have a cracked dll.

I disagree slightly with Trash. There are some good set pieces sprinkled throughout, or rather just some good encounters that are nice and challenging. But yeah there are definitely way too many corridors and elevators.

I still think MP > SP so you all might want to check out some multi videos to see how that's like.

The annoying melee Ork swarms + heavy weapon CSMs would be a a very challenging combo to fight... Hopefully they up the ante in the co-op mode (preferably nigh-impossible to complete like Last Stand).

Also it gets better when Chaos invades

In what? Part IV after you are mislead into opening up a Warp Rift that is ... what? after 3/4 of the game?

This is some GoW/GoW hybrid ... ITS SHIT!

As long as more than 10% of Horde players don't have shitty connections, it'll be an improvement on Last Stand.
With Last Stand I thought the problem was shitty graphics/cpu, because it seemed like it would sync everyone to the shittiest performance computer, not lag. Or was it net lag?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was syncing to the shittiest performance. And it didn't help that last stand tended to get chunkier as the arena got covered in craters.

From one of the most fun rtses which was Dawn of War 1 to this healthamole corridor shootan , oh Relic how low you've sunk.

So is the game good?

Game is basicaly a story told (which is not that good so far from what i've seen) and the combat is a filler.

Hard reset combat ----------------------> empty space ---------------------------> space marine combat , that's how boring it is.

So, I see you still do not have the achievement for completing Part I on Hard in one sitting without dying or restarting. :smug:

God damn it I still can't decide if I wanna get this for $25. Does sound horrendously short, but the demo was fun. And I'm really not sure if I'd play the MP much, but the horde mode is right up my alley.

Hnnnnnnnngh and I suppose there isn't much else on my radar for buying this year. FNV DLC, Torchlight 2, Dungeon Defenders, Binding of Isaac (Maybe), Renegade Ops (Maybe), and then probably ask for Skyrim for Christmas. And it might take a decent chunk of time to hit $25 or lower in the future. But the longer I wait the fewer people will be playing MP, which increases the chances of me not playing it much.

Sounds like you should wait 30 days to see if the horde mode is good, bro. It might have a deal around then too.

I'm at the part where we go to emo hair inquisitor's research lab, and it has been boring so far. Is it too long till Space Rapists invade and does it get better when they do, or should I uninstall right away?

Think you have a video game substance abuse problem! Just wait, it's already mid September. Personally I plan on getting TL2 in October at full price (because I love Runic) and that will easily carry me into the Halloween, Thanksgiving, Treasure Hunt, and Holiday sale at Steam.

Relic sunk with ubershitty DoW2 where they managed to do impossible - put what ruins every shooter into RTS - popamole. With tight corridors and 90 degree angle cover no less.

So Space Marine is like an incline from that. A big incline.

This doesn't say much except that DoW2 is indeed a horrible piece of shit.

Chaos is close as when you do the ... thing on the Lab it opens a Chaos Gate. you still get Orcs for a while longer until you beat the Orc Boss but a few Chaos Marines and Bloodletters.

And I dont think it gets better, its the same shit ... the only reason to keep going is because you already done most of the game, its just not even fucking interesting ... besides as bad as Bloodletters can be lore rape the whole Captain Titus is resistant to the Immaterium strikes me as FAR bigger Lore Rape and even that is not solved, we just have Leandros to rat on him with the Inquisition taking him away.

This game just fucking fails, even DoW touched on the effects Chaos had on Loyal Space Marines without such a fucking coop out plot "dur, dur, I have +30 Chaos Resistance".

Well on the topic of corridors, while there is way too much travel via corridor in SM, most of fighting occurs in large rooms. Plus, when there is fighting in a corridor it's usually disadvantageous to the player, because of the melee swarm and nades and shootas from afar.

I'm still more-so disappointed that the Chaos encounters didn't have enough melee annoyance. Every now and then Bloodletters spawn, but there are barely any Raptors, and the Heretics are not nearly aggressive enough.

Titus should have turned to Chaos, IMO.
