Holy shit 1d4chan is awesome. I'm still not setting foot on 4chan. I let me gf do that (and somehow she gets us IP banned so I can't download comics off /rs/).

One gripe I have with multiplayer is the lack of maps. There are only 3 distinct maps if I'm not mistaken and they are used in both modes. Not only are there only three maps but they're pretty tiny and not very creative. I really hope they update the game with some more arenas or even the MP is going to get fairly stale soon.

There are 5 maps, and yeah they're tailored for 16 players. I wish there were more but at least they all have a lot of openings and alternate routes to the various points. But yeah, I hope they'll add more later, though so far I have fun playing around the current layouts.

Bah, biggest problem of this game is the lack of ambition I guess because it could have been so much more. But the final result is still good fun.

Edit: I'm tired because there are 5 maps, not 4.

I've been enlightened. The reason Titus is invulnerable to the warp is because he is obviously an avatar of Kaldor Draigo.

Interestingly enough, digging around in the decrypted game files, Titus's attributes are in a file named "vanguard," whereas there is also a "prototype_vanguard" file that lists a Blood Raven named Corbus. Incidentally, there is also a "prototype_vanguard_evil"...

Also, if these following files are true placeholders for true planned files, there will be 3 DLCs. 10 maps from them altogether. Also some DLC armor to come with that.

I think these are possible objectives in Exterminatus (or at worst, scripts to help perform the objectives):

- Capture
- "Cleanse"
- Collect
- Defend
- Destroy
- Escort
- Hunt
- Interact
- Trigger?

Nice variety there.

Wait, what, no Execution in Exterminatus? =\ That's what gave single player its nice balance. Hopefully that really means that you're getting very overwhelmed, and not that it's easy...

Without Executions (that give you back health), you have no reason to use the stun chain of combos.

Though I guess this is mostly true in the beginning of the game, because I just ended up killing things with the Power Axe (since for some reason its stun chains just did damage).

I've just finished the campaign. Really enjoyed it: one of my favourite games of the year for sure. Definitely one of the best third person shooters I've played. Loved the ending too, they can't just leave us on a cliffhanger like that.... they have to make a sequel. Preferably with more breakup of the gameplay, maybe some different things than just carving your way through hordes of enemies. But still, great game.

Multiplayer is laggy as fuck so I wouldn't recommend that to anyone right now, but it's fun to mess around with the customiser.

I gave the not-removed-from-inventory version a spin. I was still undecided after the demo. This convinced me to spend my moneychips elsewhere.

I've been playing this the past few days, finished it last night. Holy shit, I'm expected to pay $90 for this piece of shit? Or is multiplayer >75% of the game's value? The only place worthy of my patronage is the pirate bay.

Actually the MP is quite good, the SP is boring IMO.

This has been the case with action games for a long time, they tend not to be very fun vs AI.

PC patch later today:

Added mute all functionality and push to talk
Fixed ‘butterfly’ exploit.
Update matchmaking parameters to search for local matches longer.
Fixed a crash when cancelling a search
Fixed an issue where profile progress would not be saved properly if steam cloud was disabled.

Just ordered every single Horus Heresy book that I don't already have (which is only about four or five). Feels good bros. :smug:

I was thinking of doing that but I don't think my bank account would appreciate it very much. Plus I've still got all these Song of Ice and Fire books to get through. But the lore of 40k makes my dick go hard.

I recommend the Last Chancer novels by Gav Thorpe, they aren't great literature but they give a great impression of the 40k universe from a lowly grunt's point of view.

It's been a while since I've read him but I remember Abnett being one of the good 40k writers.
