In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. The forces of the Emperor, although mighty and numbering in the untold billions are barely enough to stem the tide of ITZ and corruption.
Hive world Armageddon. Located 10.000 light years to the northeast of Holy Terra, it is the battleground for many of the most devastating conflicts in the Imperium of Man. Covered in ash wastes and with few habitable landmasses, it's people are forced to live in towering hive cities, their populations in the billions. Yet for all it's wretchedness it is one of the most vital industrial sectors in the Segmentum and for that reason it cannot be allowed to fall.
Armageddon is currently involved in a huge ITZ concerning a massive orc invasion, the second one in recent history but by far the larger of the two. The planetary forces are unprepared for this war and thus reinforcements are en route to assist. Among them number the 422nd Codexan
The current battleground. Orders are to seize the yellow hexes.
Our forces. The 422nd has not finished disembarking yet thus the forces available are few.
Gretchin, otherwise known as Liberal-kin, are sighted. Heavy weapons teams are ordered to take up positions inside the abandoned factory and pin them down.
To the south, all seems clear.
The gretchin are easily eliminated but Killa-Kan, anti-infantry, crudely fashioned ork mechs, are sighted. They are equipped with flamers. The Leman Russ' and Salamander companies engage them from a safe distance while the basilisks pound them.
The flamers manage to destroy the gretchin to a man.
Massive ork reinforcements to the south. Our rough riders take some damage. The 422nd seize the trenches to the east.
An entire ork horde perished.
Flamers attempt to pin down the other shoota horde but take casualties of their own.
Bikes feel the Emprah's fureh.
Sentinel Company reports massive amount of orks defending the ridgeline.
Trukkz appear from the south as well and manage to pin the sentinels into place. The company is slaughtered completely.
Led by the Colonel Commissar himself, the Guardsmen charge the orks and push them out of the building, with support from nearby units.
Large ork forces are attacking the strongpoint, supported by trukkz and Killa-Kan.
Forces are now able to maneuver eastwards and reinforce the guardsmen.
Surrounded, with the Killa-Kan all but destroyed and trukkz gone, the orks will stand little chance now.
The orks are butchered or forced to flee.
The 2nd Earthshaker company has managed to disembark and make it's way to the front. Time to break the ridgeline.
The flamers are decimated but imperial armor proves superior to nigger tech.
