In Crossing East a scholar named Geris who wants the player to help him studying ancient ruins and teleports the party there - IT'S A TRAP! A trap that crashes the game. The party cannot return to the Valley until it finishes the quest, but the quest is impossible to finish as moving camera at some point in the location causes a crash of the game. I just had to load an older savegame and redo another quest because i made new saves in the new location. I have tried many times to finish this quest, but every time it crashed at the same spot. Just avoid the quest.

I managed to complete the quest. You can prevent the crash from happening if you zoom ALL the way in and keep the camera at as high an angle as possible. Got some great stuff from the area too, and my thaumaturge can now use golem.

I remember writing about it somewhere, but you need to move camera only with numpad and indeed zoom a lot.
