pretty cool guy eh
This game is obviously aimed at me - I fucking rock at rotating cameras.
I certainly prefer a more minimalistic approach to them, like:One thing I don't get is the complaints about the GUI size. Am I the only one here who liked the big interface elements of older games like Might & Magic or Dreamweb?
The great things about the video is that it has a rotatable camera, hex based grids, skills that are tied to usage and hopefully a shitload t of content since they are saying that there is a lot of reactive text. The flanking maneuvers are nice, covers are great and its good to see the beloved action points used in a game besides AoD.

What does "early gameplay footage" have to do with the voice acting?

Speaking of AoD, will it be better than AoD? Will it come out before AoD?

That's because I've rotated your mom once. You were the end result.

I personally think that a comparison is Unfair since they are doing different things. AoD is a single character game focused on a very different kind of world and ideas.

Bro, you are totally right. I bet the one thing InXile are concerned with right now is voice acting...something they were explicitly discouraged from spending resources on by their backers (but not you, right? This is important stuff. Go you!)
and something which Fargo (or was that Feargus? My primitive mind can't keep all those darn names straight!) reiterated in interviews.
But yeah, man! This is the CODEX! Better comment on totally irrelevant and inapplicable shit in an early gameplay video, right?
This is all disregarding that you thinking what very well is placeholder VA sounding like "fratboys" actually makes any goddamn sense in the first place. Which it doesn't. You fucking sperg.
I apologize though, from now on I will be sure to consult you on what is and isn't ok to criticize before posting.
It's not irrelevant. Quite the opposite, they claim it's quite common.
And making me miss fucking 3dawg.
Another thing I like to sperg on: basic grammar.

How about something relevant like the gameplay? You know...the point of the video? That which they were focused on showing us? That would be a fine start.
Because you've been told this is the finished product, right? What makes you think the VA was any less a placeholder than the pic of the thug/dog?
Fascinating. I'm sorry you hear fratboys. It must be tough thinking that every non-sperger out there is out to get you.

All the retards complaining about the adjustable camera can fuck right off.
How about I criticize whatever the fuck I want?
Unless the point was simply to show you that this element exists which is a perfectly reasonable thing for them to have done. The same is not true of the radio broadcasts portion, which is there specifically to show radio broadcasts. If they are not representative of the final game they shouldn't have bothered with that section of the video.
It was tough making sense of a rambling meaningless sentence written by a human vegetable, yes.
A single concession towards gamism and ~balance~. Instead of balancing a skill against an attribute they have two skills that more or less do the same thing with some doors easier to lockpick and some doors easier to smash. Explosives seem like they'll be a thrown monkey wrench, we'll see.Second, the part where they broke down the door reminded me that it seems pretty silly to have a brute force skill. I really don't understand why they wouldn't just allow you to use attributes as well as skills on the gameworld.

Well, arguably, clutter and "decorative" elements are very old school, and I don't mind them one bit. There seems to be a lot of unneeded clutter and "decorative" elements to it that seem to have no function but make the gameplay area smaller. Some of the UI elements also looked out of place compared to the others, like the one to the left seems to try to look rusty/rustic and the "skillbar" looks more futuristic. Talking about the skillbar and its different contexts (and how long it always took him to click on the "perception" or "unlock" symbol and then go back up to the element he wanted to use it on) I couldn't help but feel that either a context-sensitive radial menu like in ToEE or at least being able to scroll through the options with a mousewheel or similar might have been the better option.
