I'll bother writing a list once people experience item no 1
What an interesting piece of hidden classic. I just checked out its intro, very beautiful.

Look at these. Such strong, uncensored, based, and redpilled imagery. Something like this wouldn't pass these days!

And this?

Game of Thrones stole this genius idea! I'm sure of it.

Shouldn't we wait for BG3 in order to do this properly?
Why wait?

1. Bg3
2. Baldur's gate
3. Fallout
4. Gothic
5. Morrowind
6. Pst
7. Iwd
8. Risen
9. Bg2
10. Ultima 7

I would have included Deus Ex and SS2, but I have a hard time counting them as RPGs

Bloodlines is part of the Codex top 10, so why are you posting on an inexcusable forum?

No need to get defensive. I'm talking about how you followed up the two best popamoles with four mediocre ones in a top 10, that's all.

Clearly, you love popamoles. And since you have three Deus Ex ones, you must also be a Deus Ex fanboy.

Your bias is just blatantly obvious. Even some shitposters have more variety in their top 10s.

Daily reminder that neither JA2 nor S2 are rpgs.
S2? Sure. But if JA2 is not a crpg then neither is Pathfinder Kingmaker. In fact even it is less of a crpg than JA2. JA2 has all the elements to make a game a crpg. Think about something you can attribute to all/most other games in this thread, except fantasy setting - JA2 probably has it. More than many of the games mentioned in this thread (which btw are CRPGs as well for the most part). On the other hand the management component in this game is minuscule in comparison. Such component appears in some other crpgs as well. There is nothing to prevent a crpg to have elements like that, as long as it is not dominant. In addition not only crpgs but also several p&p rpgs have management components (or even strategic gameplay elements) which suggests that crpg should be able to have it as well. All this is in case of JA2 a moot point anyway considered how small and non significant those parts are compared to the classic crpg elements. Except dragons. There a few small dungeons though.

Nah it doesn't make a poof sound when people level up and they don't get skill points then.

Searching for my kidnapped sister
That was quite a tough order. I have nearly twenty in that top list. These are just the top of my head typing it out.
  1. Fallout: New Vegas
  2. Neverwinter Nights 2
  3. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
  4. Baldur's Gate
  5. Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn
  6. Fallout 1
  7. Fallout 2
  8. Icewind Dale II
  9. Planescape: Torment
  10. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
NOTE: I am in the middle of running Fallout 2 RP, the latest of several runs together, satiating my F2 jones for the year. RP, RPU, back to RP~

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire
From what I played:

1. Ultima V
2. Wizardry: The Return of Werdna
3. Wizardry: Bane of the Cosmic Forge
4. Wizardry V
5. Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord
6. Ultima IV
7. Fallout
8. M&M I
9. Bard's Tale
10. Wasteland

It's ordered considering how much "involved" I was while playing, so maybe I enjoyed some of them more because of my emotional state at the time, I can't tell.

90% RTwP, all 5 IE titles, no TB, no sci-fi, no blobbers, no JRPGs, no Bethesda, no pre-Renaissance releases, no EEs, no deceitful prestige signalling to appease the hivemind – this is an 100% honest and accurate representation of the CRPGs that I've enjoyed the most over the past 22 years, from CHARNAME's first steps in Candlekeep to the present moment. Honourable mentions: The Witcher I/II, Tyranny, Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide & Hordes of the Underdark.
