Playing Geneforge 1. Damn, what a hell of a game. I just wanted to try it a little and I'm already 28 hours into the game. The 3 factions concept is nice, but the smarter way is to not side with any of them and enjoy doing quests for each of them(avoiding quests that conflict with each other, though).
The Shaper class is great and making your own monster is probably the greatest idea of any crpg I have ever seen. I fail to see any reason to play the other 2 classes, in fact. The plot is simple and given all the crazy stuff in that island, mc just wants a boat and leaves that place. After finishing it, I'll play other games before I play Geneforge 2, so I don't get bored with this. It's been a long time since I had so much fun playing an rpg.
