I guess you buy a lot of shitty stuff in Finland then and end up flaming it twice as much because you actually lost out on getting it.

Not really. We just wait that someone test it first... Maybe some credible gaming magazine (like Pelit-magazine... For example they gave to "King of Dragon Pass" 94pts. "Fallout" 93pts. "Space Rangers II" 93pts. and "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance" 70pts.). If it get good review we might buy it. It's really not that hard.
