I heard you get it off the dead Balor, but when I killed him (finally!!!), his corpse disappeared and all that was left was his magic stone! what gives, was I misinformed or what? RSVP, thanks :D

Which game is that? If you're talking about BG2, then no. You don't get off the Balor. If you're talking about somethig else I don't know about, then I don't know.

I've never found anything except the magic stone after beating the Balor (man, what a fight) either. Is there supposed to be a vorpal longsword in the game, isn't that a bit overpowered?
Balors, like the one in ToEE, have vorpal weapons, but they aren't useable by a player - hince no dropping of them.
crap. Why does it say then in the TOEE guide that the Balor drops it after combat?

Perhaps the author haxed ToEE's pants to get the vorpal sword or just got lucky on a bug. I remember screens of someone running around with it.
