Jade Empire came out a year later and follows the old formula like Deus Ex.
Did I say it's as good as Deus Ex?
it's kinda good for what it is, by Bioware standards. Not a good story, but gameplay is decent for an action-RPG

Quality aside, it's not even the same genre, and nearly all video game follow a linear structure. Are you referring to the small hub both game have ? it's still quite a stretch.

Max Payne 3's gameplay is objectively very good
And as far as detective games go, LA Noire is still one of the best

What about the hub? You don't really get a choice which missions you do or in what order. They're linear.

Story driven games and gameplay driven stories are kinda both shitty, but at least in the latter case the shit is kinda mine.
