Why is the search bar user-only?

First i thought of Xenforo excuse but both NMA and Paradox forums have search bar for non-users.

What is codex trying to hide from lurkers?

Or is it so that you guys can jerk off about the user number?

Grab the Codex by the pussy Strap Yourselves In
We already know people with unsavory motivations are stalking this forum, let's not give them a hand by implementing features like this.

Search is fairly database intensive, limiting it to users only reduces server load.

Google search is better anyway to find stuff on any website

I wonder if thinning out the idiot shitposter hordes might also help.

Often it is, but the general forum section is blocked to crawlers. Also codex's search can search inside threads and by username, which I find useful.

Panda was asking why forum search is limited to user only, implying that he wanted to search something not in GD, obviously

Talking of Google searches, why not make the Public Library actually public?
I don't see why that sub-forum should be hidden, and there's lots of quality posted there that would deserve a wider audience, like my book reviews.

Yeah, I agree, always wondered why DU hides the good stuff with all the crap

Because it's good stuff, or popular enough to generate patrons anyway. Assuming that word about these subforums reaches the ears of peasants somehow.

Could do with the Leisure Zone being public actually, considering how little NIGGERJEWFAGGOT goes on there, even in comparison to the gaming subforums, and how high quality and genuine the posts are in general.
