But my perspective: I come here after a long, hard day of being being serious and german and want to relax and be entertained. But the fact of the matter is that I just I don't find the 4th sequel to Return of Irenaeus very entertaining or funny. It's like Star Wars: Every successive act is more shallow and less compelling than the previous one. Circlejerks and cults of persona are just not my thing.

And your stuff isn't even the worst shit in the pond. The German Codexers Something Something Thread by Eyestabber is the latest highlight in being terrible and surely is illegal somewhere in the world. Memes are 99,36% unfunny, that everyone just repeats them over and over isn't helping it. Tryhard and edginess used to be a trademark of the Codex, now all that's left is tryhards who really believe their shit and people that even fail at being edgy (boggles the mind). It's effortless and medicore. All of it. The Codex is like a bunch of braindead Zombies that pretend they're on a schoolyard smoking weed and other cool shit.

The prestigiousness that the Codex once claimed has been replaced by pathetic cretinism. This has attracted the worst kinds of people in the world: People that tell other people that they're unfunny. Their insecurity aside, this is irony in action if I have ever seen it. The Codex has long lost the idea of what is entertaining and what is not. I would love to drone on but I must go now really quick. I'll continue tomorrow.

There was a ton of that in the latino neighborhoods I grew up in back in the early 90s. I mean, Crossroads by Bone Thugs is kind of a reflection of poor neighborhoods preoccupation with the rapture and how it was gonna happen soon and all kinds of shit. So then we kind of got an influx of reformed gangsters and hoodrats publishing reformative rap songs. I mean it wasn't EXTREMELY popular, but I was kind of a sheltered kid and most of the older kids in my hood were listening to it, so I did too.

I'd say that happened because the average codexer turned into our scariest nightmare: a boring popamoler in terms of games (and even other media).

It's effortless and medicore. All of it. The Codex is like a bunch of braindead Zombies that pretend they're on a schoolyard smoking weed and other cool shit.

On the other hand, you can still see glimpses of brilliancy going to the glorious autism center of Codex Playground. There are threads there I wish I had 15% of the talent to post like that. I spent a month preparing a GalCiv3 effort LP to post as an opening salvo in tackling that kind of literature and make it worth it but eventually life got in the way (such as being banned multiple times) and I abandoned it. I hoped that would be first in a series, as I wanted to LP a series of others games, including PoE (yeah, I know you guys hate it, but I'd bust my ass to try and make it interesting). My main concern most of the time was if I even had what it takes to be placed next to the best content of the Codex. At the end of the day, for all the time we waste on games and here, most of us don't know if we're good enough to turn it into something worth preserving among the masters.
