In 1990 Microsoft put together three font packages that I have come to regard as more than just fonts, much more than that. Currently parts of this font is broken on the Codex. I write this post to explain why it is important that it is fixed, because what we have on our hands here is not a mere dingbat, but the basis for a philosophical language. With the risk of handing out too much of the imbued powers of these glyphs I will give an introduction to their importance.

Some users here might be familiar with Tarot, or Tarocchi, which can be used for cardomancy or exploration of your inner being. Regardless of their origin, be there so truth to the theory that they do stem from the book of Thot, or if they are simply universals distilled over time into the cards, until finally perfected by A. E. Waite and Pamela Colman Smith, or restored, depending on your view, they still function the same. There is wisdom imprinted into them and as a whole they sum up all aspects of lived experience, of life itself. My proposition is that Wingdings does the same for metaphysics and philosophy.

I make no claim of an ancient origin, but that through the process of distillation of symbols into these three variants what we see here is some kind of return to the origin, concepts inherent to an infinitely old Indo-Aryan or Indo-European mind, that might very well have in them more power than hieroglyphs, runes or the hebrew alphabet. That through these three fonts, or logogram tablets, we may understand not just Man but the entirety of existence itself.

The three tablets are presented as following in the original release of the font.

Wingdings [1], or The Golden Tablet of Illumination, combining Christian, Gnostic and Platonic concepts into a whole from which they must at some point have splintered from. This is the first, the highest, that from which everything else flows.

Wingdings 2, or The Silver Tablet of Reflection, the Dionysian mystery tablet, containing Pythagorean symbols and devices. It is of the first, but its own thing. Before one can fully grasp it one must first master the previous tablet.

Wingdings 3, or The Obsidian Tablet of Kaos, this one is at once the easiest of the tablets to understand, but also the hardest to master. It is pure movement, transformation, permutation, constant change, the necessary third aspect of the whole.

Knowledgeable men and women will be aware of a fourth tablet, The Lead Tablet of Djinn, or Webdings, but it does not belong to this triptych. It is a corrupted version of the wisdom contained in these initial three tablets and of a baleful origin.

Now upon initial reading one might think that this post is a joke, a jest, a jape or simply the scribbles of a madman, so I will go deeper into some of the logograms of the first tablet to give you an initial jolt of understanding. That within these seemingly banal symbols is very deep concepts that are disguised as something else.

Let's start with the first one, A, in this system. It is what the common man in the street might think of as a V sign, or a peace sign, but the true meaning is revealed by the context it is put in here, along with the rest of the symbols. It represents the most basic of things, duality. The splitting of the heavens and the earth, between men and woman, light and darkness, life and death, an important concept for sure and this singular glyph represents it all. The source of all manifestation from the monad, or godhead, the principle of all things.

Right after that we have the next heavy hitter, B, a complete shock to the master. Isn't it incredible, we are only two glyphs in and we already have the second most important basic philosophical and metaphysical principle right there. Of course, the drooling zombie walking our urban centers in a glazed over haze might think that this is an "OK" sign, or if they are completely lobotomized might say that it stands for "White Power", in the lowest sense these might be accepted meanings, but surely anyone with even the slightest education must see what it truly is. Three fingers, and a circle, unity of the three. Surely this cannot be lost on Christians, but Platonists too must gasp.

We are only two glyphs in and already we have gone into deep principles. But it goes on, through the entire tablet, and as you gain understanding of each glyph you see the symmetry, the beauty of it.

The white lily, purity, life, sacredness, divinity, etc.

The inverse, the black lily, death, corruption, the chthonian counterpart of the heavenly white lily.

We have these great concepts that form a pattern, an unified whole when looked upon from above. The Yin-Yang, the complimentary nature of dualism itself. The seal of the sorcerer king with six points, six points like the Enneads, formed by the four elements. The Cross and its mystery. We have the entire zodiac and all the things which that offers. At this point even the slowest in this audience will know that Wingdings holds the keys to the great mysteries.

So that is just a small peek into the golden table, the solar vocabulary, the origin. Knowing what we have on our hands here, can we truly afford to not have parts of these glyphs show up? It must be the work of a practitioner that uses the Lead Tablet, the forbidden arts.
