It was time to press on to greater things.
The 4th floor had failed to impress the EXTREME TEAM, so now they were going deeper...
It did not look particularly intimidating. What could lie beyond? I genuinely do not know.
We make our way to this point without meeting any enemies. I plan on going back very soon but just want to get a feel for this floor.
From what I can tell it's made up of many twisting passages. If we run out of Dumpaic castings we will quickly become lost.
Our first enemy encounter is with these things. Not too tough, but their strikes cause poison.
We get a Sturdy Plate out of the battle. Cassidy equips it. The drops are very good down here, and the rate that we find it at is decent.
More enemies. The bishops are weak too. We need opponents worthy of our caliber.
And we soon find them. RK-47 hits the enemy with instant death, and we press on boldly.
While recklessly searching for monsters to kill and rob, they stumbled through a few one way doors.
Majestic failure awaits us unless we find our way back soon. We can't continue to kill monsters of this floor forever at this rate- RK-47 is getting tired. And we still have to make the journey back through the other 4 floors.
But eventually we find the route back to the 4th floor. It was a lot messier than it seems here.
We run into a group of Dragon Puppies just a few steps away from the ladder. The team underestimates them, as they are merely puppies.
Mustawd and RK-47 pay with their lives.
The survivors are forced to flee, having barely survived the Dragon Puppies breath attacks
Corporate Jew Master is able to heal the party back up to functional shape, and we begin our march toward the surface. It has begun to be almost expected that a few members would die on each expedition, so the loss of two comrades does not bother anyone much.
On the surface, RK-47 and Mustawd are brought back to life. The temple is very capable of returning the dead. I always thought their failure rates were higher.
Also, since we made so much money on our latest expedition, I decide to attempt to restore Decline. It was only right.
And they succeed this time. The Decline is back in action.
With our unreliable yet EXTREME THIEF with us, we make another trip down to the 5th floor.
RK-47 allows us to make it through these battles with only one spell casting.
At this point the everyone realizes what a horrible mistake their party composition was.
boot and Cassidy were only half as useful as they were before Class changing. boot had terrible level ups since then and had about 5 ST 5 PI, and their spellcasting abilities were not good at all. Also, Kalin was deadweight. He would never learn the more useful spells.
It would have been so much better if the team had started with something like 3Priests, 3Mages, or 3Priests, 2Mages, 1Thief. Then Class Changing would have made sense and legitimately made the team stronger, and there would be no deadweight. boot could have had a long list of Priest Spells, Kalin could have had class changed from Priest too and not been so worthless, or gone as a mage first. Anyway, Priests were really useful and I wish we had more of them. Cassidy would be better if he changed over from a mage... They were full of regret and angst.
But the team presses on with full knowledge of their inadequacy, and find an elevator.
We can use it to reach floors 4-9, though the 4th floor leads straight to a locked door. Anyway, we're going to ignore it. Elevators are for weaker men.
The team eventually makes it's way into a zone where they cannot cast any magic. I had heard of places like these but I didn't know one was here. Without the awesome might of RK-47's magics, these battles are a bit too dangerous, and they do not stay long.
The anti-magic effect lasts even after they leave the area, very bad. What is this shit?
They got out of there fast.
The 6th floor is banal and boring, the EXTREME TEAM needs greater challenges. Excepting the Anti-magic zone, it was not a hard place to survive.
