The program is as true and accurate as possible to the actual workings of its real-life counterpart.
World of Guns:Gun Disassembly comes with seven different modes:
  • Field Strip
  • Operate
  • Disassembly
  • Assembly
  • Game
  • Super Game
  • Hardcore
In Disassembly and Assembly Mode, the X-Ray View looks directly through the gun to show you where all of the parts are located.
In Operate Mode you can fire, slide moving parts, and reload the gun when the magazine is empty. Slow Motion View allows you to see the gun’s operation in even more detail.
The Game Mode of this application is a mind-teasing puzzle. Here, you are given the challenge to rearrange and reassemble the gun in the fastest time. These times are then recorded locally and globally in our highscore tables, where you can compete with other users. Parts are usually assembled and disassembled in a logical order, but sometimes the order is determined by specific safety or mechanical limitations.

It's easy. Now learn how to disassemble (and assemble back) Mauser C96. :troll:
For bonus points, compare actions of AK-74 and AK. Most of "AK" in the world are really AKM and it has similar action.

WWII:
SKS
:x Who the fuck used SKS in WWII? Two and half soldiers?

I think I will buy the full access if it will be on sale. My gun-boner demands it.

I came.
Nice find. Anybody saw the shooting range? It seems to be disabled at the moment.

Does Steam version have more free models, BTW?
Unfortunately, no. Even if you buy the Life-Long-Access you still have to be constantly connected to the internet as the game downloads data of the weapon every time you decide to view it. This seems to be the friction point of many negative reviews it's getting.

I unlocked one with the 'Starter Pack'. Nothing spectacular graphic-wise or function-wise. Still, it tries its best when it comes to the simulation part. For example you can't go rapid fire on a Colt and hope to hit the target - the gun can still be fired even when you are still re-aiming after absorbing the recoil, ergo, you will fire above the target.

Developers are probably Russian so they are in dumbfuck "evul piratez!!!" mode.
Heh, it's looks like a question of proper *.ivy file with model. :troll:

In order to get full functionality, our applications need internet access. Each time you launch the application, it will ask the server for updates, new models, etc. If you do not have internet access or your computer is blocked by security policies, however, it is possible to install new models and updates manually. Please refer to the instructions below.

1. Registration.

The first time you run the application, it creates a file in the\My Documents\Gun Disassembly 2\ folder named udid.txt. In this file, you can find the unique identifier for your computer. Please copy this identifier and paste the UDID field on the registration screen.

2. Downloading Models.

Each model consists of two files: the info_.ivy file and the model_.ivy file. The first file contains all of the necessary information for displaying the model in the application interface, and the second contains the model itself for disassembly/assembly. When the application updates the interface database, it downloads the _.ivy files for the new models, and when you purchase some models, the application downloads its corresponding model _.ivy files.
If you want to install the files manually, you just have to download these files and place them in the \My Documents\Gun Disassembly 2\ folder. You can download all available info and model files from your profile page in the "manual installation" section.

3. Purchasing Models.

You can purchase any model within this site on the online store after logging in. After purchase, the files for your model will be available for download on the profile page. To access your purchased models, you will also have to download your digitally-signed access .iap file and place it in the \My Documents\Gun Disassembly 2\ folder. You can download this on your profile page.

4. Updating the Application.

In order to update the application, you have to download the latest installation file on the Downloads page, then run it on your device. Some files in the application package can be manually updated only by installing the latest build (general images, strings and so on).

5. Some Recommendations,

Because internet access is necessary to receive information about new updates and models, we recommend that you subscribe to our news updates. By turning the subscribe options on in your profile page, you will receive emails with the latest information about our projects.

I played a bit more, it's pretty relaxing. Shame that model quality is so uneven. the AK was ok, the 1911 was pretty good as well, but the mp5 has an atrocious number of polygons.
Also, there seems to be little rhyme or reason as to the way the whole weapon tree is structured.

Yeah, I saw the graphics weren't much.
How was the physics? Bullet drop, penetration and all that? Were scopes functional and could you twiddle with zoom/windage/elevation? Cause I was pretty hopeful for such features.
Can you use all unlocked guns on a range, or are they tied to specific weapon classes? Basically, what's the difference between these 10 ranges?

Every time I see the lifetime pass in a sale for twenty bucks I feel so tempted to get it.

But consdering it still doesn't get you stuff like the vehicles, skeletons or texture packs nor an offline option, I can't help but think the devs would find a way of fucking me in the future.

I didn't try it for long, when I get back home I will check it thoroughly and present my findings.

But still...

For those of you thinking the shooting range is for all guns, you are wrong. only specific guns. without this, the game is a gun assembly/disassembly simulator. thats good and well, but its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that you cant fire whatever guns you want on the range for $10. avoid buying this.
Yeah, the Dev's are being a bit cheap.

Oh ffs...
Still, if the guns that CAN be fired are nicely modelled, I can live with that.
Though they prolly won't be seeing any my shekels.

TT is made very solidly.
Though they should have placed big exclamation signs on some disassemblies that are only one way.
These turning latches on TT grips for example, they are really rivetted.
Removing rear sights is not a laughing matter either.

Shooting ranges are now unavailable because of the transfer to Unity 5.1, they are basically a separate application it seems.

Also, Sweet Madonna, how is it that a S&W M53 Revolver that supposed to be a hunk of metal has as many parts as a regular pistol, not to mention some of them prohibitively small?

It's 4 of July and all MURICAN guns are temperately unlocked.

This would have been a way better game if it was like the Kerbal Space Program of gun games. Why do I need a video game for this? I already HAVE most of those guns!

Because it's very educational? Most of these guns are too expensive here, even if they are available and you jump through the all legal hoops. Molot started to "make" M16 clone year or two ago (locally made barrel and, probably, receiver of questionable quality) and it cost, afair, $2000. Compare it to $150-$200 for SKS, Mosin or AKM. Even SVT is $200 here.

These small parts in Glock and P228 were quite bewildering after simplicity of Nagant, TT and PM. I remember reading Glock's manual, but model is much more vivid.

Forgive me Lord, because I've sinned.
I installed Steam to one of my newer computers.

Inaccuracy: You need to remove magazine first when removing receiver&barrel from SKS, because its front end connects with rear sight base.
Walther P38: Wow, there are a lot of thingies. Germans are really dark wizards.
Already have 5 credits. Fuck spending any money on this shit. :troll:
After all, looks like they sell real models (that can be played without Internet) only to Gun Disassembly 2, not Steam version.
