Note the scratch-off code cards. Leave it to Blizzard to discover some way to intertwine the revenue streams of two products that both happen to require a buy-in and steady cashflow ( for the typical CCG player ) in order to continue to play/remain relevant while playing.

With an almost fanatical playerbase, of course they will want to purchase Blizzard's newest product to get in-game items.

I guess this works out well for players of CCG's who are interested in the cards, but not the MMORPG (if any such exist). You can buy cards and ebay the special foils or something to try and recoup your costs.

When's the "unannounced" expansion for WoW, that will add in some of the promised retail content, out again?
