PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
these cinematic trailers are so cool it makes you wish the devs would fuck off back to the film industry where they belong.

Except, most trailers are outsourced to the same studios that produce movie trailers.

The best video game trailer ever made -- if we're just taking into account what impact they had on sales/bringing awareness -- was either the Gears of War "Mad World" clip or the Dead Island "in-reverse" trailer.

My personal favorite trailers are usually ones that are either movie-like or they do a great job of syncing the music with what's going on.

^ Very movie-like (what a coincidence). Great editing and great use of dialogue to pace the trailer out.

^ Great syncing. Yeah yeah, go fuck yourself it's an Army Men game, but that trailer does a stupidly good job of matching the beats with the action, and it matches the instruments with the segues.

All the AAA games with AAA trailers are entertaining. Warhammer, Warcraft, all that shit where you can tell, "Hey if they wanted to, this could be an animated movie." I think the ones that most blew me away were the Warhammer ones, particularly Dawn of War. The original WoW trailer was pretty great too. I knew nothing about Warcraft and it still wowed me. The vids that got me most amped for a game were the Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth tech vids. Not necessarily trailers, but they might as well have been. They were super awesome. I think they're 100% lost in the aether of the internet by this point, though, like old 1920s films burned up in a warehouse fire.

OK the BEST video game trailers just have to be the ones for the SWAT games

"When SWAT gets the call, there is no other option..." :gunshot: Heroes Wanted

What a great slogan.

Then theres the intro, its like a shorter version of the trailer but just as great

Stack it up!

And, the expansion pack trailer IMO the best one.

Whenever the narrator guy lists another new feature(awesome new environments... explosive new guns... co-op) your eyes widen a bit more. Thats how to do a trailer.

Damn... Fun, fun games.

Never understood the appeal of game trailers, especially prerendered ones.

Miss the days of old ones showing of real gameplay, however hilarious it was. So much running in the EQ one, but very honest:

Not exactly a trailer, but who can pass on some good old fashion 90s CGI?

Far Cry 1 trailer, i forgot about this one

OMG can this trailer be any more 90s...

...Jack Carver thought he left his military past behind snap! snap! snap! (love that) but when hes hired by a beautiful foto journalist...

What a classic line... Then it gets even better. A forbidden fortress... a radically equipped commando unit... :wiping sweat from my forehead:
:shredder:

And it ends with that mutant tease... What a hook

Shit they dont even make trailers like they used to, let alone games.

I love this one, so funny

"Guns
Small guns
Big guns
Guns guns guns
And explosions
And a car
Car explosion.
It's time for a game that kicks ass..again "
