+1 bonus vs Demigods... because lvl 1 character regularly train how to fight vs Demigods :lol:

Also this demo had serious problems with FPS.

Also characters look like they are walking on air.

And I cannot get over the stupid name and at start when he says this village was not yet taken over by greed...

I'm a Baldur's Gate fan, and as far as I can remember, there were no weapon restrictions in terms of bonuses. Even your lvl1 character could equip a +4 weapon. Anyway no matter you've a +4 weapon at lvl 1 if you just never hit your opponent due to low THAC0...

Ah, Baldur's Gate, the good old' times...

The point is, lvl 1 characters have no business having bonuses vs Demigods in any way or form. In D&D Rangers can have Dragons as favored enemies at lvl 1 which is similar stupidity but still less then here as you can find small dragons which are not such a high challenge.

Game that allows such bonuses at lvl 1 shows us that it cares little for world consistence and it is only looking at numbers.

Crushmaster sounds like a nick of some douchebag pickup artist.
The devs replaced Crushmaster with Highlander, which is why I crossed it out.

Also, it looks like they took my advice and changed the meaning of Yer-En-Gal from "world of worlds", which was too meta and made no grammatical sense. They previously removed the worm-thing fan/concept art and the Rillow description based on feedback from this thread.

So whatever else may be said about these guys, at least they're open to suggestions.

Edit: they still have the Mobile Marketing Specialist's glowing endorsement on the front page, though. :lol:

So there are small Demigods in your world that people can fight and realistically win vs and then pass on that knowledge en masse to lvl 1 characters?

Answer me a simple a question: if your lvl1 character can use a +4 weapon in Baldur's Gate (D&D) -- and the weapon might have a bonus against anyone --, how is that related to the knowledge of your character that wields it? If your item KNOWS it (because its creators -- immensely high-level characters -- HAD that knowledge), then you *don't have to* to know it.

The point is, D&D also doesn't restrict weapon usage based on the level of enchanment, e.g. +4. So your lvl1 Fighter is allowed to wield a Longsword +5 that offers a +10 damage against Dragons. The knowledge is in the *longsword*, not in its user. This is realistic: you can use a high-tech device at home (like your cellphone or computer), as well as a primitive hammer or any simple tool. You can use both types of items. Noone says you're too stupid to use the hightech stuff just because you wouldn't be able to produce one on your own.

Is it the effect of a weapon? You said you are guessing. This conversation is pointless until you are sure.

What's wrong with it? Their title is really exciting, and goes well with the game logo IMO.


What exactly about the title sounds "exciting" to you? Personally, I'm ambivalent to the title name (after all, I'm looking forward to buying an RPG called "ICY" for pete's sake), but I'd hardly call it "exciting".



And saying it goes with the logo is just nonsensical. That should not be a driving factor for the title.

Check back what I wrote about their initial Xurxur beast concept art: I said it wasn't good. But when something is good, I'm not going to calll it bad just because some ppl here consider it awkward to tell compliments where compliments are due. Criticizing everything all the time doesn't make anyone look more important or smart.

Anyway my opinion may be slightly biased as I truly like this project (finally something new: no boring undead invasion bullshit, instead the greed concept is really innovative to me, as well as their Wintermage class, I can't wait to see some stats). But I give credit where credit is due, and give criticism where criticism is due.

And saying it goes with the logo is just nonsensical. That should not be a driving factor for the title.
I don't know what was their driving factor, but when I look at their logo with the turned souls, I feel the text and logo as "one". Not sure I can explain this, but it's some sort of immersion. When I play the game, it's kinda the atmosphere: the harmony of audiovisual and text stuff. Hope this made it more clear.

No, in this forum if someone has a post history consisting entirely of one game, and their sentiments are overwhelmingly positive (the title is exciting? Really?), then they are often asked if they are a dev (/mobile marketing specialist).

I don't know how to code. I don't know how to make game art. Do I like Black Geyser? Yes. Am I biased? Yes, probably. You're usually biased towards something that makes you excited.

Seriously, I worked with indie devs in my past, hard-working, talented ones. I know how to make distinction between good ideas and bad ideas. That's all.

As I'm not a native English speaker, I might choose the wrong words sometimes. For the title+logo combo, "immersive" might be a better choice than "exciting".

Nah, no matter which way you try to spin the title, it doesnt sound good. It sounds part like a gay porn flick, part like a name of poor fanfiction about some cliche fantasy world written by Johann (15y.o). Its the same as if the name was Red Rocket: Purveyors of Pleasure.
