Well, DA:O sold 2.05 million on the Xbox 360 and 1.17 million on the PS3.
Mass Effect 2 sold 2.57 million on the Xbox 360 and 0.26 million on the PS3.

PC sales are unfortunately not tracked, I suppose DA:O sold more overall that ME2 but overall they would be somewhat of a match, I do point out expecting DA2 selling 10 millions is a absurdity as it would have to outsell Halo 3.

Edit:

[I'm just going to bow out of this one, as it's not my area of expertise. All I know about 4chan I've learned from this site, and I don't actually know what /v/ is.

4chan is a image board and /v/ is the videogame board ... I am usually in /a/ or /jp/ boards, I rarely go to /v/.

Does 200 or 300 anonymous ratings seem like an insurmountably tough job for a reasonably coherent group of people on the internet? Not to me, but again I don't know.

Here is the problem ... coherent as that rarely happens, even less when there is work to do and even if /v/ started something ... well /b/ would get involved and what I seen on /v/ was trolling calling DA2 a good game and right now its not like ME2 were you could not go into /v/ without seeing a ME2 tread, right now you might see one DA2 tread that is a troll tread (DA2 being a good game).

So no, 4chan is not involved as /v/ would have jumped and I see no activity to support that.

Look when /a/ decided to troll Bandai and vote on Clovis on the Code Geass character poll (and also in Rivalz so they would take 1st and 2nd places) I knew because /a/ was talking about it but looking at /v/ now ... nothing.

Where are you getting these numbers from?

Vgchartz.

I know they are not what we can call reliable and have a bad reputation of making shit up (that they deserve) but they do correct their numbers when reliable sources come out.

Do keep in mind ME2 on PS3 has barely been out compared to both ME2 on Xbox and DAO on both platforms, so direct comparisons may not be terribly accurate. Still, if the numbers are true, I have a hard time beliving anyone could've set a target of 10 million... even 5 seems pushing it, and that's including PC. (and by "pushing it" I don't mean "the game won't sell this much", I mean it sounds like a very unreasonable target to set when compared to previous track record, irrespective of quality of my own opinion on the games)

"Also, inventory is like Mass Effect 2.."

Complete and utter bullshit. That's all that needs to be said about that myth.

The user reviews are funny. Both the superm low scores 9o and1) and the 10s ar ebullshit.

It is funny however that only now are people who always go 'fans are dumb their reveiws don't count' are point to them as 'proof'. This makes it suspicious that some people are going there specific to rate it 0 just for L0LZ (of course some are rating it 10 just because as well). Both sides are being intellectually dishonest, and that's just not cool bro. For the record, I haven't given my rating nor will I like. It certainly isn't a 10... and, it certainly isn't a 0. That much is damn sure.

Also, anyone and I mean anyone who actually beleives DA outsold ME2 is just plain delusional and retarted.

OH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

this is fun!

Sometimes I wonder if you're just trying to get everyone on the Codex to block you, as some sort of social experiment or something.

The first gaming magazine that gives it a fair review steal the popularity/legitimacy for themselfs.

Imagine if IGN came out and gave it a 5.7/10.0 and said a few things that we all wanted to hear... It would become our new hero. Why dont any of them try that?

Notice how the top items have 5 ratings as well and after 8-9 hrs I have switched my "daggers" (more like swords..) like 3 times since once you get an item of higher rating, you just ignore everything else. Oh and your companions can't equip any armor (they are so hardcore that they don't even need helmets) but only weapons and jewellery.

Like I said, inventory is LIKE ME2 and feels like a mix between ME1+ME2, like an experiment for ME3. Instead of getting only better items like in ME2, you get thousands of same level (read=star) items like in ME2 which you don't have to worry about switching to since either:

a) They are the same items that you equiped
or
b) They are low level items which you just collect and sell in the end

Actually I remember reading somewhere that they bought in people from ME to help with DAO sequel. You can tell they did their magic since half of the animations look re-used from ME (almost every cinematic has same animations and feel from ME.. it was a 2 yr development time so they even reused animations from ME??). Even that retarded drinking animation for commander Shepard is back for commander Hawke. But animations don't really bother me, just nitpicking here. Kinda shows how much attention was paid in creating this rushjob masterpiece.

Just to support my point, Xbox 360 readers at Gamespot give this an 8.8,
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/unn ... eview.html

while PC readers at the same site give it a 7.3.
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/unnamedd ... slot;img;1

It wasn't designed for us. I don't even know if it makes sense to crap on it for not being our kind of game.

This makes quite a bit of sense.

I'll possibly (not sure, I wouldn't say probably, but I won't rule it out) end up buying this for the xbox. I won't even bother not removing it from inventory on the computer. My expectations of console games are very different from my expectations of PC games.

Because they're shills for the gaming industry's marketing departments.

I'm curious to see what RPS' wot I think will say.

Bioware did it again. Simply amazing, the gameplay the story the everything. The graphics on this game could give modded Crysis a run for its money. The people who are hating on the storytelling just don't get it. It's obviously too deep for them. And don't get me started on the characters accompanying Hawke. Merril is just soooo cute. I want to nom her head and giggle and squee every time I see her. Some people may dislike the changes but they just need to get past the fact that games evolve. No longer are we stuck with a silent protagonist with which we just choose lines of words to reply with. I mean who wants to read all those words? Certainly not I (but maybe some nerds do...lol). Now we have a fully voice acted character that speaks with super realistic emotions expressed in each sentence. Which is great because the dialogue is amazingly deep. You can choose between the peace loving diplomatic guy, the angry lets fight now guy, and the sarcastic witty guy for like every single response you make! Certainly no other game matches Bioware in its depth in character choices. You can literally do anything.

1. Some of the other 10/10 reviewers still seem to have a hard time saying DA2 has better graphics than Origins with a straight face, but not this guy. No, he moves right on to 'better than Crysis'. Unbelievable.

2. "Nom her head and giggle and squee every time I see her." Really all that needs to be said right here, I think.

3. So evolving=Removing 30-40% of the original features and replacing them with voice acting. Good to know.

4. "Certainly no other game matches Bioware in its depth in character choices." Oh go die in a fucking fire.

Have you read some of those other reviews? It's gotten to the point where it's hard to tell anymore. DA2 seems extremely polarizing. Either a reviewer hated the game, or he's ready to slob over one of the developers, if only they would present themselves.

Gee. Some people actually think a score of 0 is something that should never happen? If every aspect of a game or other media sucks, 0 and 1,2,3 is perfectly valid (out of 10). Giving it high scores undeservedly is like a sports event organizer in some random school saying 'Ok, let's give these retarded kids prizes too just for showing up.'

I LOL'd most @ the PC Gamer review..

The best RPG combat ever. Not gaming’s best story, but maybe its best storytelling. Darker, sexier, better.

Sexier, ah yes it deserves that 94% then. Who needs that boring RPG shit when you can press A to see VIRTUAL BEWBZ!!

Just like a "10" smells like bribery / fanboyism, a "0" reeks of butthurt / edginess. I've yet to find a game deserving a flat 0 (not counting alpha-stage stuff like Big Rigs)

It's like the SAT's, you get a set amount of points for just writing your name. If a game is playable it's automatically a 5 and you deduct/increase from there. Boat loads of cash from EA sure doesn't hurt PC Gamer's reviews.
