For some reason I can't see twimg embeds, just a IMG tag in its place. I have to quote the post, remove formatting in the reply box and then copy and paste the URL in another tab. Very annoying.

Fuck embedded media. Stuff like twitter or youtube embedding is a far worse performance shredder than the button parade.
What's next? Videos with autoplay on the codex?
