Finally some bits of info from the prestigious grim darkly blog http://grimdarkly.wordpress.com/
His last entry was pretty much a testimony of insanity and abuse during childhood, i am refering to the infamous "Teh Golden Bey-Beh " song by Cooper Blakemore.

Must say i like some of those :

"MOONBEAM

This horrible spell conjures up an enchanted image of the moon which causes mass insanity in animals and werewolves who fail their saving throw versus hypno. Lycanthropes who see the illusion may become beholden to the spellcaster and begin to fight savagely amongst themselves."

Ideal to fight a bunch of werewolves indeed and then you finish them off with axes and scimitars wich share same skill tree.
Plenty of strategic options i am sure of it!

Over half of those seem very D&D-derivative. Where are my superior neanderthal-mind derived spells?

In all seriousness: If a game has 13 useful spells, it's already pretty good in that regard. Useless spells are a staple of fantasy games.

Sounds like Grimoire isn't very well optimised, what happened to Cleve's legendary capabilities as aspie-programmer extraordinaire?

answer: the real Cleve died in '98.

I still don't believe at all that this is Cleve's son or anyone beta-testing Grimoire.

The character and place names are all spot on.
