Maximum amount of tags per post?

It seems like if you tag more than 10 people in a single post, most of the tagged ones won't receive alerts. You may think, "Why would anybody in sane mind tag so many people" - it's simply convinient when you want to gather a bunch of 'Dexers for mp session of Dominions or any other game. Like these threads, for example:

Apparently (I might be wrong on this), only first 10 tags receive alerts - all other people from the tag list don't. I guess one can simply multi-post, but maybe there is some technical solution to solve this problem?
