Anyway, I think I'm nearly done with the Merc - gonna try to hit 40 and just swap to heal build so I can just group find to level up the rest of the way.

Question is, what new class to play Imperial Side?

Did you partake in corvus' Agent storyline? If so, go for either Warrior or Inquisitor - both are neat, but I find the Inquisitor to be slightly better. If corvus dumped you, go for the Agent as the storyline is by far the best.

That man nearly spent real money to buy an ewok companion.
He is... compromised.
Mandalorian he is not.

Looks neat. Is it worthwile? What rewards are given for starfighter missions? Warzone comms, by chance?

Credit rewards are scaled to your level.
At lvl 40 I got around 20k credits for victory and 10k exp.
Other rewards are strictly ship requisition and fleet requisition.
You spend SR/FR to upgrade your ship's components.
While you can save up and invest a large chunk of FR to acquire a new ship.

The biggest issue is that some new players are not really fighting on equal ground at all with the mines, repair drones, fast-lock missiles and the dreaded rail gun that kills in 1.5 shots.
You only have 2 options - Scout or Strike Craft. The basic Scout may seem like an eggshell (TIE Fighter) - but it is more survivable due to top speed and ease of movement - fly in hard to hit area, and never ever engage in a fair fight. In fact, flying in open space should be minimized.

People who fly basic Strike ships are basically exchanging speed for additional armor and sub-par lock on missiles - which isn't gonna help much since people land easier hits on your slow plodding ship - and all the other noobs gotta do is fly away - your turn rate will never keep up - and blind side you once you've given up the chase.

Also, Team DM is probably where the new players will die often.
Domination on the other hand is more doable - fight for control over 3 satellites.

I do have to say I'm disappointed when I discovered my Sith characters do not share the same ship. Hence you need to pick one main to fly in. There's no way I'm going to enjoy flying in an unupgraded Scout again when I reroll the Assassin. Minor gripe - but kinda disappointed.

Didn't need to kill WoW.
The lack of focus is messing with the game though.
Heck, lost a few rounds in Starfighter and you still come out ahead in terms of Credits earned and EXP compared to classic questing.
I can see they try to add new things but end up with barely anything.

The slot machines are lazy.
The two map modes in Starfighter PVP is decent, but lack map variety.

I'm slogging through my merc's final arc (Lv 46) and kinda see they've lost momentum at the late planets.
Goddamn Hoth - Belsavis is just horrible.

Close to finishing merc.
Then off to do the Flashpoints I never got to do.
Since we're lvl 50 - probably can just duo the lvl 20-30s FP handily.
Tried Inquisitor.

And some people praised Korriban. Amazing.

I'm disappointed. This thread used to be about bashing TOR and now we have a few pages talking about how it isn't that bad. What happened to the codex I used to know?
