Not sure if this is just one of those "fucking tapatalk sucks shit" issues, but I've begun seeing ads on tapatalk while being logged in on a potato-loaded account. I'm not talking about banners or pop-ups when reading actual content. These ads show up when browsing a forum and look like a topic, except they have green borders on the top and bottom and shitty names like "TOYOTA 5-STAR CHALLENGE". It's not breaking my balls, but those green borders are fucking ugly against all the orange in taptalk's UI.

Bah, did they change tapatalk again so you need to create a account with them?

fuck that.
Yeah, that is weird. I reinstalled it a month ago and I could just skip the bullshit and log into Dex, but my bro intalled it like 2 weeks ago and it was a fucking mess (you had to make log to Taptalk, adding/removing forums was retarded).

I'm running 4.4.2 and he's got 5.x IIRC - it seems only there's a difference in versions.

PS I never had any ads and I didn't disable them anywhere.

Tapatalk, like most good free apps, has realised they're not making any money and so has gone to shit.

They started showing ads for some countries a while ago but since site admins don't really have any control over the app itself, there's no way to disable the ads for site supporters in there at the moment. If DU finally stops playing games and updates XF, we'll have a guy fix up the native style to make it more responsive so there'll be less of a need to use Tapatalk.

Actually, I just found out that we can disable ads for supporters, so this'll be up to DU. DarkUnderlord Tapatalk - General - Options / Disable Ads for Group. You've got a gazillion user groups and I don't know which should be ad-free, so I'll leave that up to you.

Yeah Tapatalk are fucking dodgy as these days, plugging their shit everywhere they can and hijacking your related accounts.

I've disabled ads for those with patron tag enabled. May remove Tapatalk altogether the way this is going though.

Are the pop up ads inside Tapatalk served by the codex or by Tapatalk? Because a couple of times I've received porn popups while browsing, which can be interesting on public transport.

Tapatalk is weird. It finally forced me log into it (not only the Codex), but I still didn't get any pop-ups or even regular ads.

Anything inside Tapatalk is their doing, though they do pay a small commission for any ads served. Shouldn't be any porn, though...

Yeah righto. It was super graphic too, and happened a couple of times. Thought it might be malware on my phone but it's only happening within Tapatalk.
